Defined as: positive selection increases the prevalence of adaptive traits that help the individuals' capacity to succeed reproductively

Is positive selection considered evolving as a species? what is the bible's take on positive selection?

only asking because i just read an article that stated the Black death strengthened human population as a whole. There were people with genetic mutations that would die very quickly, and others with a mutation that prevented them from getting sick or dying from it. SO in the end the people with the mutation that made it easy for black death to get them all died off. Leaving more people with the good mutation that protected them. Positive selection. SO basically the article was saying the black death shaped humanity and our genome.

say it killed off all the humans with the bad mutation. Only leaving the humans with the protective mutation. Could you say the human population then had evolved?
