Say you had a child, or children, which route would you take regarding parenting?

For example; would you be a hands-on parent, a howercraft, or a "I'm you're friend" type of parent?

I'm thinking there should be a blend between being hands-on, but there's also that part of a parent that wishes to have a more friendlier connection with their child ~ where the child wouldn't have a need to hide anything from their parents and could talk about anything and everything if need be (within reason, of course).

The last thing one would want, is to be a "howercraft", where the kid is under parental control 24/7, which is an extreme, and extremes are never good.

im a sole believer in letting kids be kids.

with an influence of positivity and confidence.

But i dont have kids so i dont know if my stance will change, everyone says it does. I remember when i was like 16 i always said "man when im a parent im gonna let my kids party" lol

^Kids need to feel freedom, but at the same time, they need to know that certain things discipline wise won't fly...
