Ward is a fuckin beast!!
wait... you actually think Pac lost that fight? (on paper/judges cards yes, but come on)
I will agree that he's the best p4p boxer though. I wish JMM was comfortable at 142, that would've been a good fight
i guess i need to catch up, lost a lot of interest in boxing over the last few years. Try to pay attention when i have time but obviously not up on up newer fighters.
I know but still fun to point that out
haha yea , what sucks is years from now when people are comparing legends, thats going to be pointed out by some youngsters that never saw that robbery and strictly comparing records... sad day for boxing..and i refused to ppv another boxing event ever...(even though i haven't in years cause...well i have internet
My 2 favorite boxers all time are Mayweather and Roy Jones with Hopkins a close 3rd. But I love watching Mayweather work its a beautiful thing.
Im guessing in the past hour Bob Arum has already been doing damage control trying to salvage the career of his cash cow by saying (lying)
a. The Mayweather fight is still a possibility
b. Trying to throw salt on Marquez win by bringing up Streoids/PEDS and the lack of stricter Olympic style testing (that strangely enough hasnt been used 4 any Pac fight since he joined TR).
c. Trying to convince the people they wanna see a 5th fight between these 2 (and yes with the exception of the 3rd fight they all have been amazing..but enough is enough...sheesh!)
People who dont know boxing call it boring...but true boxing fans recognize watching his defense is a work of art 4 real.
And yeah Roy in his prime was a boxing God....most likely the best P4P ever (even though he messing up his legacy by not retiring).
If i had to pick one, itd be tyson...dude was a MONSTER and i really think if it wasn't for D'amato dying and Jacobs later, he would of been a serious problem...not that he wasn't already but really could you imagine if he never got hooked up with King and had someone keep him in line...
i definitely agree with this, although i have strayed away from boxing, and all sports in general..just getting grown and taking on responsibilities..but i've always preferred watching boxing over mma..for the art and skill that really goes into boxing...even if it isn't as entertaining to the masses..its exactly that..an appreciation for art..
it'd be pretty easy to scrounge up the footage, not like we're all huddling around radio broadcasts.
The internet >>>>
Definitely they could but, again i mentioned youngsters, they will look up the record and argue that..unless they actually take the time to sit there and watch it which i dont think most would..it will end up being what it is..a loss on paper..
just my .02...
Yea that part is really hard for me too watch
I like UFC/MMA but it cant compare to boxing IMO. Its not nearly as strategic as they try to make believe it is, and I love the fact that the elite fighters they have are all Boxing or Kick-Boxing specialists (Anderson Silva, Junior Dos Santos,Bones Jones).
Even though I gotta admit, both have been on an amazing streak of great fights to close out 2012.
on the Jones subject, he would of needed to retire after beating tarver the first time ...but he was only like 34 i think at that time...possible to retire but on the younger side...then he lost to tarver/johnson/tarver again.....hell of a way to retire..couple wins then a good W against trinidad maybe should of retired then..definitely shouldn't of fought Calzahge cause THAT...THAT was hard to watch..i mean i love calzahge but damn he made roy look amateur....and that would of been a hard retirement..understandable but hard on a guy that has an ego his size haha
Calzhage did fuck Roy up bad didnt he...lol. That shit was Lohan ugly!
Roy was never the same after winning the Heavyweight championship and losing 25 lbs of muscle to make light heavyweight to fight Tarver.
he only went up in weight for ONE fight though...and he beat tarver the first time in 12...
and the nerve of Jones calling out Tyson...
