Nas bested Jay-Z with "Ether" ("Takeover" was dope) but at the end of the day Jay-Z > Nas

Jay-Z's probably done every style or rap you can do. Nas is the better storyteller though.

Lol, I don't know why I even mentioned Jay-Z, this isn't a Jay-Z vs Nas thread. But it's like Nas said, "the best supposed to clash at the top."

Eh, kind of a pointless thread. Hard to deny Nas a top 5 spot but the GOAT is way too subjective.

Honestly hovas probably the most consistent rapper ever, but has he ever spit anything that made you jump up and go HOLY SHIT! He hasn't done it for me. Biggies done it nas, em pac, even rakim and all those you would put near the top

nas goat maybe idk. hes better than jay lyrically.

nas beat choices always seemed lackluster.

one of the greatest songs ever

Anyone that thinks nas got jay with ether...never heard blueprint 2

"plus your man jungle is a garden to me"
    jay got him.

Nas is prolly my fav but jay is such a better rapper than nas. Nas's flow can be off at time; jay makes the shit look easy.

I will never understand how people can put the camel above Nas unless you're basing it on material success/popularity

Jay has produced so many disappointing albums: Kingdom Come, Bluprint 2, Vol. 1, his wack shit with R Kelly

Nas's only real disappointment was Nastradamus
