In spite of previous reports that BioShock looks "no different" on PS3 than Xbox 360, IGN is claiming otherwise. They note that the water effects look better, and the texture work has been cleaned up. "It's quite obvious that 2K is taking full advantage of the PS3's Blu-ray discs to pack in cleaner high resolution textures for every facet of the game."

Ooooh the water in Bioshock looks more realistic on ps3!

Thats totally worth $200 more for a ps3 than I paid for my 360.

Your math is horrible. They cost the same since gold is essentially mandatory. You fail

360 is more expensive at the end of the day. especially if you intend on buying gold for more than one year. which most have already have. and thats not considering repurchasing a 360 after your shit breaks down out of warranty and you refuse to engage in DIY repair

Blah @ arguing over slight graphical differences. Of course a game will look better when you port it to a more powerful system.

    Are you shitting me?

I paid $200 for my xbox 360, gold is only $50 a year..

$250 is more than $400+? OMG WTF WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN

Oh and btw, bioshock is not multiplayer so bringing gold into this argument is useless.

    Favian = premature birth failure..

    lol $200 for 360?
aftermarket doen't count you fucking irrational mess.

there is no sku that is at $200 (below the cost of the fucking wii)
i dont give a shit that your frustrated boyfriend sold you his busted xbox for $200

the cheapest sku out there is $279.99 for the arcade.
    nobody buys that nonsense

everyone gets the premium sku which is now reduced to $299.99, which was just recently $350. $299.99 + having gold for 2 years.... same cost as ps3. Assuming you buy gold for every year of the console's lifecycle, you'd have spent substantially more money. That's not including the headaches associated with owning it.

you need gold for most of xbox games, fucking idiot, i'm sure bioshock is not the only game in the average 360's user's library. fucking dipshit.

If you noticed I said "my" not "a" 360 you fucking inbred redneck useless piece of flesh. Just because "everyone" that you know gets the premium doesn't mean every person in the world gets it you incest production.

No shit people have other games in their library but again this topic was started about bioshock which has no multiplayer so stop trying to make yourself look correct when you have the IQ of a lump of cow shit.

BtW I got my xbox from your girlfriend after I busted a load in her ass and she thanked me for it like that.

She also compared me to god and compared you to well... you unfortunately.

    You're just a PS3 fanboy, Pussy substitute x3.

haha! the 'ol i fucked your girlfriend insult, which is geographically impossible.
    lame.

my point is you're making it seem like it is $200 everywhere as though thats some kind of argument that the 360 is cheap. its a shit argument.

its like if i said i got a ps3 for $10 from a cousin, and therefore it is cheaper than xbox. you have comprehension issues.

gold was brought up to calculate the true cost of owning a 360, it was completely unrelated to bioshock, for some fucking reason you connected those two together.

I connected those two together because you were speaking about bioshock in the first post, you brought up gold after my response which has no connection with bioshock therefore making it irrelevant to the thread. I actually bought mine from a store for $210 with tax, it included the ethernet coord, headset and HD. So either way a ps3 is around $200 more.

Also there are many games that you can play on 360 without gold, not to mention psn sucks ass, I'd rather pay for a great service than be a cheapskate and use the shitty free service.

the problem with psn is not in its quality of service, its the lack of adoption by users. 360 has a larger market share, so chances most of your your friends are going to be on it, so from a social perspective it makes more sense to be on live until there are more psn users. of course that changes when home gets released. i'm sure you'll see more people using psn frequently at that point. they also need to make more ps1 games downloadable, in addition to old arcade games.

    other than that, its fine.

PS3 has better hardware, lacking in games and losing exclusives. I still own one.
