    true, ra had no impact

in actuality he wasn't even a real person

he was concocted jointly as part of a bet by the heads of the SOHH, AHH and RM forums in March of 2000, who then sought support from a couple of major record labels

Once people started getting too curious they brought a vagrant off the street to record outdated rhymes written by old school rappers who were popular back in the days they planned to imitate - KRS, BDK and LL are rumoured to have been involved

The vagrant died of a heroin overdose during early recording sessions of Follow the Leader so they had to bring an alcoholic to record the remaining albums - that's the reason ra sounds so different after PiF

the albums were distributed quietly on a large scale to people brought in on the scam so they could claim that they had these records for years and eulogise Ra's name. Existing albums were modified to include samples of Rakim and rereleased with no public fanfare, copies were taken off shelves and replaced

Internet forum users always want to appear cleverer and more knowledgeable than everyone else so they like to pretend they were around when those albums dropped and act as if they changed the game and other such falsehoods

This is also why ra is known to be a weak live performer - the technology available couldn't maintain the illusion of the rhyming vagrant (who had zero performing experience) combined with the paranoid schizophrenic who provided rakim's face and body

i might get in trouble for revealing this information but i can't live with the lies any longer

just goes to show you know nothing about rap music. got nothing to do with "old-school" or "dickriders" or "hyping guys like him". he's a legend whether you like it or not. every single one of the rappers you listen to today know this.

Nah I never heard a "rakim" song. Why would I?

Name one place I'd be at where it would be played.

    I'll wait....

Nobody here in the last 5 years or so have ever been anywhere and heard "rakim" playing in the background somewhere or heard it being played in general.

The only way ur ever hearing "rakim" is if your playing their music yourself.

I dont have any of their music on my computer nor do I know where to find it so ofcourse I've never heard their music.

Did you know that music isn't just something that appears out of nowhere and floats around in the air like magical fairy dust?

Did you know that you can actually turn music on yourself and even pick what kind of music you want to hear?

you're such a cornball. only thing worse than 90's hip hop purists are idiots like yourself who are delusional enough to think you're "up to date" and "hip" just because you listen to modern music opposed to older releases. you rarely ever log out of this rap board so who are you to even make such statements lol

    Ur an idiot.

I simply explained why I haven't heard any rakim music since someone asked.

2: I said in my previous post that I don't have any of their music on my computer NOR do.I know where to find it. So...HOW can I play it myself? ? Obviously then, the only.way I, myself, would hear Rakim is if it was played by someone else. Which it doesn't.
