After recovering from the disaster that was the 2006-2007 season, I am anxiously anticipating how my Devils will go on a tear and get back to as Coach K said, "being Duke". Lets get it.

Don't get too excited on this Duke team, Coach K has really done a poor job recruiting and putting this team together.

Now, if you just look at pure talent, while this team isn't on par with past Duke teams, this is a very talented team. But here's the problem.

Scheyer, Henderson, Nelson, King, Nolan Smith, Singler - thats 6 very good shooters/wings right there, but leaves some huge holes at pg and center. Paulus is okay, but he's too easily rattled. To me, he's not really a point guard but just an undersized shooting guard. At center, I like Zoubek, but they have no other size other than him. And Zoubek is very foul prone and fatigues easily. Good teams have balance. This team is talented, but will struggle against big teams that can bang them up and without a true PG to run the show, will struggle against teams which aggressively pressure the ball like VCU did.

At the PG they have Paulus.

Everything you state, I agree with. Here are the reasons I am optimistic:

    1. Henderson is the truth and will be All-ACC first team
    2. Singler will cause match up problems for other teams post players and have the best season of any freshmen.
    3. During the entire off season and during the blue-white game, the team has been pushing the tempo and playing more aggressively defensively.
    4. Reports so far indicate that Nolan is outplaying Greg at the point, so its not definitive that Greg will remain the point all season

If Robin Lopez can get up close to his brother Brook's level, Stanford's front line will be a problem for the whole west coast.

A little surprised to Gonzaga up that high yet again, but then they are always overrated.

I don't remember them from last year, is Indiana back to being legit or is the Big 10 just down?
