    I read an CNN article on this and what I got from it was that these subsidies need to go because they are too expensive. But by Nigeria being a poor country it would make more sense to remove the subsidies after economic reforms are made that can uplift more Nigerians out of poverty first.

    I think Nigeria's poroblem is that it's economy is too dependent on oil. Nigeria needs to adopt policies that will help to diversify it's economy,providing more wealth building opportunities for it's people. Then the subsidies can go assuming they are as expensive as their gov't says they are.
