Yesterday Nissan confirmed the launch of the 2009 370Z at the Los Angeles motor show and today AutoCar reveals the best info ever. 370Z will be "very much an evolution of the current car but with an even greater emphasis on agility", according to the company’s design chief, Shiro Nakamura.

The new car’s name, 370Z, signifies the enlargement of the V6 engine’s capacity to 3.7 litres. In this form it produces 326bhp when installed in the US-market Infiniti G37 coupé, to which the Z is closely related. That’s a useful improvement on the 309bhp of the current 350Z, and torque increases slightly from the 264lb ft of today’s car to 270lb ft at 5200rpm.

The coupe version will be followed by a roadster version, but a potential new addition could be a diesel version, that, if Nissan wants to compete with Audi on the European market.

As long as you let the car do the racing rather than the DRIVER, your american muscle always has a chance.

Don't dare try to use skill to drive a car though.

Yeah I mean, definately I can see how a C6 would be struggling against a Nissan 370z.

I'm sure if it was a m6 it would be even more diffcult.

    heh.

Oh, are you using 1 type of American Muscle to make up for the other 30 that wouldn't stand a chance?

    that's fair.

    You talking about sports cars?

We have f-bods, vettes, vipers, cobras, gt-500's, Ford GT, new Camaro, C6 Z06 and then we have the almighty ZR1 that cleans up.

hmmm.. then in luxury we've got CTS-V, STS-V.

Domestics dominate in all the right places. lol @ that riced out vette.

    fuck a 370z.

How is that vette "riced out"?? Because it doesnt look like a trailer park redneck drives it? Or like the other 300,000 on the street?

The interior is even nicer. Oddly enough, after linking my friend, he knows the guy and we got to check it out. Black leather with orange baseball stitchings.

But hate. It's what you do.

And yeah, domestics dominate in all the right places..........

    .....AMERICA!

    yee haw!

well...10 years ago at least. lol

Yes, stock corvettes look like shit. lol. Yeah OK.

There is no import you can name that holds water against domestics at the track.

Even the fastest supra doesn't touch the fastest street legal viper.

I don't know any corvette owners who are rednecks. I know I'm not. I'm just white and love domestic muscle. Nice try.

By track you mean - DRAG STRIP, right?

Don't use words like TRACK in this argument, or you'll completely embarrass yourself. Domestics are fucking garbage at the track, because they suck turning.

most american muscle enthusiasts are the most redneck fucks on earth. Yes, I live in TN...THUS, I KNOW.

you forget that imports don't build just for power. They take things like suspension, handling, MPG, and......STYLE in to consideration. Things that make driving fun.

By driving, I mean actual DRIVING. Not going in a straight line.

Straight line performance was gauged as a performance measure as far back as circle track racing.

Ok, so you've saying that corvettes haven't been in the rankings for circle track racing?

I mean, seriously here.. just cause I don't drive a record holder, I can READ the standings. Go look at the ring's listing. Corvettes are all over the place.. They have always been a world challenger and the Corvette Leman and race cars DEMOLISH competition.. and I'm talking about Porsche and Ferarri.

You really think no American cars hold water in HANDLING competition? where have you been?

    Vettes.

Like I said, you have 1 domestic that can run in actual races. That's not saying too much when a 70k car can keep up.
