I think I get where you're coming from, but I liked Meth's flow on Triumph. To each their own though lol. And I think I get you now man..you're just really into rappers' flow..so that's why you're all technical about it. I'm into flow too, but not as much as you. As long as it sounds good, I'm fine..but I think I finally get where you're coming from. lol

LMAO at ever questioning Method Man's flow. He has one of the nicest styles of all time.

Meth's 'clarity', or lack thereof, is what makes up so much of his character and appeal. You can almost taste the fuckin' marijuana when he rhymes. Coughing and shit with a croaky voice. Don't know what you mean by syllable count. There is no set number of syllables in a sentence. It depends on the hundreds of other intangible factors that make up an emcee's repertoire...

u need to have your lines matched up
in length because that dicates your breath control

yea it does, 'cause you shouldn't write what you can't spit. even if you're ghostwriting for someone, you can't be writing shit that they can't spit either.

unless you're talking about punching in every line or letting engineers remove spaces and words to make you sound onbeat... well, that's not really rapping, that's just fake studio bullshit to make it seem like you can rap.

actually MAK is presenting the FORMULA for this topic.. although you can find other formuals that fit you, it's all about finding a comfort zone.

a practice game i do almost everyday with my MC's is i take multi syllable words for example

    imp-ress-ive

then i try to rhyme as many words off my mind with it like

    impressive
    incentive
    discretion
    interested

    i incorperate slant and perfect..

some times you'll even be able to do this

    rip sentence
    grin let live
    grim henchmen

this game will definitly strengthing your rhyme game up..

another thing to do is also look up on google rhyme words n learn what the words mean,

i think out of all the advice given, Gal, my advice to you right now, is what is going to get you to that next level.. its good to know the in's and outs of rapping.. but the best thing you can do is strengthin your rhyme game by hands on approach. you could do this with your hubby tbh..

    start of easy like

    crack
    wack
    stack
    back
    mack

    etc

and then build on bigger words..

good luck and good job in the RSTL gal.. your doing great

i would suggest getting a dictionary because that will help understand the syllable sounds and difference between a long e and a short e

and it well help u with vocab and using metaphors and wordplay

if u know what the words mean then u be a more celver mc imo

like big l for example wasn't like canibus or chino xl and used alot of
words with more then one syllable and rhymed them. he used alot of 1 syllable words and rhyme them but he still had a perfect rhyme scheme
    though.

The microphone is through when this rap legend grab it
Sendin poems to have them faggots diggin hoes like Reverand Swaggart
L's the nigga that crime follows
I'm hittin fine models and stabbin punks with broken wine bottles
I beat chumps til they head splits, then break em like breadsticks
I sex chicks, I'll even fuck a dead bitch
Always sprayin Tecs, because I be stayin vexed
Some nigga named dex, was in the projects layin threats
I jumped out the Lincoln, left him stinkin
Put his brains in the street
Now you can see what he was just thinkin
I'm chokin enemies til they start turnin pale
Satan said I'm learnin well, Big L's gonna burn in hell
Front and get scarred cause your rap style ain't even hard
I run with a thievin squad, and NONE OF US believe in God

No, you don't... all you need to do is to be DOPE!!

And nothing but your lung capacity dictates breath control.

actually it is proven fact that breath control is directly relative to syllabic parameters

their is certain words the require a influx of breath and some that command a flux

actually it goes by syllable count and how u strcuture your lines

    example deck verse on triumph

    bomb atomically, Socrates' philosophies 11
and hypothesis can't define how I be droppin these 14
mockeries, lyrically perform armed robbery 14
Flee with the lottery, possibly they spotted me 13
Battle-scarred shogun, explosion when my pen hits 12
tremendous, ultra-violet shine blind forensics 12
I inspect you, through the future see millenium 12
Killa B's sold fifty gold sixty platinum 12
Shacklin the masses with drastic rap tactics 11

here is method man verse on triumph

As the world turns, I spread like germs 8
Bless the globe with the pestilence, the hard-headed never learn 15
It's my testament to those burned 9

deck easily had the better verse technically his flow was on point

method man flow was wack as fuck on here the syllable count was all over the place
