    You gotta be a baptized Hip Hop head to appreciate Nas' music, whereas Jay-Z's music reaches out to everyone. In terms of music I can pop into my iPod - it has to be Jay-Z. You have to set time apart, clear your schedule to listen to a Nas album.

    Exactly. I go trough phases where I can only listen to Nas for days on end. But, Jay has something for every occasion. If I want to listen to straight lyrical murder, I can listen to Squeeze first. If I want concept tracks, I can listen to 1800 hustla or meet the parents. But at the end of the day, there's this itch that only Nas can scratch.

    Nas is a lyrical painter... his attention to detail is so sick... like GZA said, "visual niggas paint portaits."
