I don't have the red lights, I simply have no picture or sound. I've been making sure, with this heat, not to over-play it. It still could be an overheating problem as it is ridiculously dry and hot here in the valley... I dunno. I was playing baseball the other day and the screen started having lights flashing so I shut it down. Couple hours later I turned it on to a black screen. It doesn't work on any of my TV's inputs, but my OG XBOX does. It's not a problem with my TV.

Couple other forums I've browsed say it's a problem Microsoft won't touch (big shock; also, it's past warranty) and that it's a problem with the motherboard.

And I mean I keep it ventilated, raised, etc.

Who else has had this problem?

I am sending my PS3 in to Sony if it makes you feel any better. Hard drive is shot, gonna lose all my game saves ... everything. Waiting for my box as we speak.

I love the xbox 360 and live experience for the most part.

But for fucks sake, their customer support is completely piss-poor. A literal "F". First of all, 85% of people I've talked to are on their 2nd or higher xbox. These consoles are fragile as fuck; which wouldn't be soooooo terrible if microsoft weren't completely unhelpful with any problem.

Red-rings? give us 7 months, we'll send it back and hopefully that one doesn't break soon. I had a friend who sent his in, and got one back, plugged it in, and it had red-rings. When he called microsoft, they only offered to have him send it in to be refurbished again.

it's almost sickening. Microsoft better watch out too, because with all of the other systems offering free online systems, I wouldn't be surprised if people stopped fucking with xbox. Why pay for an xbox, then pay for live, then put up with bullshit consoles and customer support when other consoles offer free gaming, etc?

Meh. I've only my box break once. But my best buy warranty gave me a brand new one.

Did you try new wires? Might just be the connector piece that hooks up the system to your tv.

That's happened to some one I know. He rang them up and MS said the problem isn't covered or something. So he boxed it up and gave it to a youth hostel raffle. I don't think he bothered with consoles after that.
