    Moon Legend Online is Seeking Submissions

    Moon Legend Online Monthly

    Moon Legend Online Monthly is a new online showcase for good quality works of poetry and art.

    We are currenly seeking poem and works of art such as sketches, drawing or other form of expression that will be put up on Moon Legend Online.

    The goal of Moon Legend Online, is to challenge the mind and uplift the spirit of the reader,
    and to provide a creative outlet for writers and artists. It's time to follow up on the words
    of Edgar Varese: "Contrary to general belief, an artist is never ahead of his time but most
    people are far behind their,'" and to show the reader beauty of art.

    Moon Legend is accepting submissions in:
    * Poetry
    * Humorous poems
    * Artwork, cartoons, sketches to accompany your poetry, must be sent in a body of an email or
    attachment.
    * Photography, digital artwork, manipulated photography, photo collages, graphic design.

    We try respond to all submissions; because of the possible volume of submissions, it may take
    some time. Comments on submissions will be given if requested.

    I was browsing the place and decided to look at that too. That's why I said photography. Poetry is just too personal of mine.

    The Work Submitted By The Author Is Still His Work. This Means If Moon Legend Were To Come Into Print, We Would Be Able To Publish It.

    This Gives Us The Right To Publish It During The Current Issue And The Ones After. The Poem Is Not Of Moon Legend, It Is Still Acknowledge As Being The Work Of The Author Who Ever Submitted The Poem.

    If you are ever published, you give the journal/magazine/review the rights to your poem temporarily... some places, like Poetry International, retain certain rights, PI gets 50% of any money you eventually get for the poem, if you win a contest or something with it. Getting published is something any serious writer wants to do, and like I said, every place takes the right to print your shit, usually it's First North American... which means, they get to print it first in North America, and in Moon Legend's case, reprint rights... but if you're looking to get paid for your poetry, good fucking luck is all I can say. Hardly anywhere pays anything other than contributor's copies, and I can say that there's only maybe one or two people here who have even the tiniest chance of publishing there... with some serious work. Maybe.

    What Gets Done With What We Give You?

    ... And Who Is Actually Getting The Rights To The Submitted Pieces?

    Basically, the whole thing with rights is, without taking the initial rights (or reprint rights) a journal couldn't print the poem in the first place. Basically, by submitting you're saying that if they like it, they can print it. That's it. You kids are spazzing over nothing. Basically, unless some place says they take all rights, or exclusive rights, just thank your lucky stars that someone will give it a chance. Until you start getting poems published in small journals you won't have much of a chance in a bigger journal. And until you get published in some bigger journals, there's not much of a chance to get a book.

    If I were to submit one of my poems what would this mean for me iterms of publication? Do I get to keep all rights of my original work even if you guys were to revise/edit it? and if it is edited is it still deemed as a knock-off of my work and do I get full credit? because I would like to submit a poem but not if I'm going to get screwed out of my own work.
