Undefeated Japanese submission ace Megumi Fujii (19-0 MMA, 0-0 BFC) finally has an opponent for her long-awaited return to the U.S.

Bellator Fighting Championships announced today that Fujii will face Missouri native Sarah Schneider (4-4 MMA, 0-0 BFC) at Bellator 21, which takes place June 10 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla.

MMAjunkie.com (UFC blog for UFC news, UFC rumors, fighter interviews and event previews/recaps | MMAjunkie.com) reported Fujii's participation in the event in May, though "Mega Megu" has been waiting on an opponent.

The fight is a 120-pound catchweight affair.

As with all Bellator shows, Bellator 21 airs live on FOX Sports Net, and highlights packages from the show air the following weekend on NBC and Telemundo.

Fujii most recently appeared on American soil in March 2007 and submitted Cody Welchin with a first-round armbar. Sixteen of her 19 career victories have come by submission, seven by armbar. In her most recent performance, she dispatched Tomomi Sunaba with the joint lock this past November at a Shooto event.

Bellator lists Schneider's record as 9-3, though most major databases credit the "White Tiger" with a 4-4 mark.

Schneider opened her career with a perfect 3-0 start, though she is currently mired in a 1-4 slump. Despite the pedestrian record, Schneider has faced some of the sport's top females in Tonya Evinger, Adrianna Jenkins, Sarah Kaufman, Julie Kedzie and Jenn Tate.

For Fujii, the matchup is a primer for Bellator's season-three tournament, where the 36-year-old joins Jessica Pene, Rosi Sexton and Lisa Ward as the first four confirmed participants in the eight-woman bracket.

"With our season-three women's tournament now just three months away, this fight between Megumi Fujii and Sarah Schneider on Thursday gives U.S. MMA fans their first opportunity to see the woman many believe is the best female fighter in the world," Bellator founder and CEO Bjorn Rebney stated in today's release. "This fight will be a tough test as she prepares for an extremely strong tournament field.

"As a fan, I can't wait to watch on Thursday and in August."
