mass effect anyone??
I cut the reaction time down from 24 hours to 1 hour. Concerning a comparison of bases used Cesium Carbonate vs potassium t-butoxide...I got 21% and 48% respectively. I never was able to figure out the issues with using cesium carbonate...it just doesn't work well at all. Actually, I believe it's solvent effects. Some reactions work well in different solvents. I used DMF(dimethyl formamide) with the cesium carbonate reaction and THF(tetrahydrofuran) with potassium t-butoxide. But, that is one of many reasons as to why this stuff doesn't work well. Not to mention a very suspect nucleophile and a couple of sterically hindered electrophiles.
We used the the Voet, Voet, Pratt text for my undergraduate Biochemistry 1 & 2 courses. But, we used a different text for my Advanced Biochemistry class in graduate school. It was a book by Richard Silverman, "The Organic Chemistry of Enzyme Catalyzed Reactions". You should check it out some time...it's an interesting read.
If I could have my way, I would become a full time Agrochemist. I want to develop natural-product derived weed control agents. There are certain plants out there that synthesize their own molecules that retard or totally prevent the growth of other plant life that grows around them. The biologists call it competitive inhibition. There is a weedy tree that grows in my back yard...I am aware of the chemical that it produces...I've found journal articles on it...it's crystal structure has been determined but its total synthesis cannot be found anywhere in any chemical literature. I would love to work on that. If it can be made cheaply....with the least amt of synthetic steps and a decent yield...I'm sure it...or analogs of the same molecule could be useful in agriculture. But, my main interest is strictly plants and using organic chemistry to improve agricultural methods. Except that all of my chemistry would be based upon molecules that already exist in nature (natural products)...not man made ones.
You're pretty well educated, how old are you...if you don't mind me asking?
I'll have to get your AIM addy...I'll let you check out my thesis once I get it bound.
You're a history lover right? I loved studying about the rise and fall of the Roman Empire. That, and ancient civilizations like the Mayans and Incas...they were a brilliant group of people. The first engineers in my opinion. They build waterways, etc without using rulers etc...amazing. I was watching a program abt it on a subsect of the History channel that talks abt engineering (hydrolics, ancient weapons etc.)
ok a REAL mass effect question
how the fuck do i pause the game mid combat and tell my team where to go like in the fucking trailers????
wtf.....i can only issue commands real time, and pause and tell them to use powers,,,
in the demo movies dude paused the game and then issued squad commands.....wtf...it aint in the instructions......cause i'm getting my ass handed to me cause i can't possibly fight off 10 enemies and constantly monitor my crew in real time, if i move away i can't even see where they are shit.....
fucking combat is bullshit
I quit playing this game a long time ago. It's boring as hell now. Seemed like it had so much potential.
Boring??? I aint say that....i just was getting my ass kicked and it pissed me off
i'm on a boss fight and can't figure out the fucking layout......got enemies coming from both sides and no clear cover.........plus the boss sitting there kicking my ass...
game is off the chain though in everything else........i'm a try the combat out again tommorow, cause you supposed to be able to pause the fucking game and issue commands, thats how they did it in the previews.....
i havent played the game....
but i heard the biggest problem the game has is that theres no tutorial...they kinda leave you to figure out everything on your own....
finally had the time to sit down and finish it.
it was well worth it.
so back to the game.
i'm in my 8th hour or so, and i've just been made a Spectre. although obviously slow due to dialogue(which is expected as an rpg), i'm not bothered by it...it reminds me of KOTOR(one of the best games i've played)...but so far, a good game.
as for the real time fights and difficulty. when you click the button tabs it does pause, so you can select your teams weapons/powers to use, and with the d-pad you can command where they can go or what they should do(all optional, you don't have to micromanage through every step). the difficulty is not that hard though. i have it on veteran and it's been relatively easy once you get used to it. take cover, send team to take cover, shoot and cover fire.
i've been waiting for a game like this for some time.
man i think i am lost in this GAME
i loved it....when i got it...i finished it in like 2 weeks...explored pretty much everything
aint played this, or any other video game in like a month or more....just can't keep my mind focused on it, these type of games bring you out fo reality, i can't do that right now..lol
I'm ont he moon now...lol....first real "free form" mission, that i chose myself.....
