You'd be very suprised at how many of your favorite beats aren't made by your favorite producers.

I know a dude named B.Howard, known very well within the industry...niggas a musical genius.

Come to find out..this nigga is killing the scene right now and has been for a while.

He produced Ciaras "one two Step", Jazze Pha bought the rights from him.

He produced Neyo's "So Sick" and some other joints on the album..but only got credit for "I dont gotta tell you that".

Theres also a shit load more of producers who got a mean ghost team.

Danja who's under Timbaland Productions..his ghost game is seriiiiious.

So next time you hear a bangin ass beat...dont be suprised if it was made by some nigga who lives in a 1 bedroom studio apt. and not by the nigga you thought it was.

thats real talk right there. the music game production wise is like indentured servitude. you do tracks under these folks in shady ass contracts. you cant say you did the beats until like three years after you're outta the contract, and all sorts of stuff like that.

I def. feel that... if I'm ghostin on the side...and making a few stacks (5-10) a track... I'm good...

I don't need crazy ass money or fame... I just need money to the point where I don't realize it's pay day because I'm not waiting on that check to pay my notes...

ok so i get what youre saying about ghost producing etc but if the guy behind the scenes is still getting paid say 5-10g's per beat, then how is it still a one bedroom affair... i would have thought it was riches even though you were ghosting

spose it all matter how many beats you sell right? but i would have thought you could sold more ghosting no?

yeah a songwriter i met told me that its all about label politics. 25-30s if you linked up through the right person. thats just paying dues. shes worked with R.Kelly Babyface, and a grip of other folks, Lil Jon and even Paris Hilton lol.

Thats not paying dues. Whoever said that shit is wrong.

Its called taking what you can get.

You don't have to ghost..you don't have to sell the rights.

The thing about ghosting is that you're getting robbed in the end.

Neyo's album came out the gate strong as hell.

B.Howard could've been caking...but he doesn't own the rights no more..so thats no publishing.

"1, 2 Step" was nominated for awards and shit..platinum smash. He could've been caked out again...but he sold the rights.

Ghostwriting is good to an extent..but in the end you dont wanna do that forever. Thats why Dre's lil team rode off on him.

Some producers get sales off their name alone but only if they have their own artists. if you just making beats without any artist it would be hard to make a name for yourself.

But do you think these no-namers would have gotten the beats on the CDs without going through the major producer?

It's exactly what you said, taking what you can get. I'm almost positive that this guy is making a name for himself in the industry by getting these placements, even though he's not being recognized in the credits.

na ma man. ghost producing = your not seen

    nobody knows you did it.

homeboy could hit u up while ur home come see u get the beats tracked

hit the studio up and incomes ludacris
and he plays the beat 'he just made'

u get paid but u dont get ur name on the credits

it is taking what u can get. if u sell beats for the usual online prices
(anywhere from 10 bucks lol to 1000 almost)

5 grand still looks pretty good
but when the shit goes plat, an u realize u cant get ONE bit of a royalty check cuz of the hush hush agreement you signed
your gonna kick ur self in the ass

    twice.
    upside down.
    and downside up.

true indeed. if u can get the money and you got beats like that

    meaning u got a vault

enough to get rid of an enough to do some shit with

then go ahead an get some quick cash til u get the connects an get out on ur own.
but kiss the records good bye. figure it as if you didnt even make the beat.
