    1. Intro

Welcome back everyone to the next edition of the RSTL Magazine. This week, we had a lot of great match-ups like we did last week. We also have some old heads entering this week’s match. It will be very interesting to see how things go with them, considering they show up. I will state this, again, you MUST post your links or state which battle you voted on or they will NOT count. I would like to apologize for the match-ups being closed before they were actually do and I will not deduct points for not voting for the people who has established a good voting history.

    2. Recap

The week we had three no shows this week in Misskey, Redeemed and Got Life? Let’s see how this weeks matches went.

Main Stream – This was a good no show verse and I appreciate you posting a good verse. I thought the verse flowed pretty well and seemed pretty to be a good emotional piece to me. I liked the imagery here and I thought that, for a no show verse, it was a pretty solid showing, nicely done.

Nique – This was an impressive verse here and I enjoyed this. The internal rhyming was very good and flowed naturally. The imagery and the amount of detail here were very good and yet, didn’t seem to drag on or become boring. You developed the story nicely and even made the story easy to relate to. Nicely done on your match this week.

Narsil vs. Dead – Misskey no showed this week, which was expect so Narsil battle Dead. Narsil wrote a verse nice but brief emotional piece that was pretty touching. The mechanics were pretty good however, I felt that he needed to be a bit more descriptive with some of the things he did. Still, this was a refreshing verse. Dead, on the other hand, wrote to a good story just had issues developing it. The delivery was the issue here and this needs to be smooth and clear to be good. This was what caused Narsil to pick up the 4-1 victory.

Stacey James vs. Atreyu – This match up featured a newcomer verse a pretty seasoned writer. Stacey wrote a decent verse but lacked the mechanics needed to really add depth to his/her verse. Once a couple of these areas are fixed Stacey can become a real force. Atreyu wrote a good verse that was pretty consistent but wasn’t up to his normal level off skill. The readers agreed yet still felt Atreyu was the rightful winner of this match up as Atreyu shutout Stacey, 8-0.

Memento vs. oNeiRic – This match up had BOTW possibilities when reading. Memento dropped a story that not only had all of the mechanical sweetness’ one would expect of him, but also wrote a story that was nicely delivered. oNe’s verse started out very nicely, however it slowly started to diminish as it progressed. I wasn’t a fan of the dialogue used. Still it was a very nice showing but oNe. In the end though, Memento’s verse was just more polished then oNe, giving him the 5-0 victory.

Xeij vs. Dic – This was the BOTW and was a very nice read. Dic wrote a very good verse emotional verse that was serious yet humorous. The mechanics were all good but some of the rhymes seemed kind of forced but it didn’t hinder the delivery of this piece any. Xiej wrote a good poetic style of verse, which was refreshing. The story was good but the rhyming seemed to become more important than the story, which did hinder your verse. Its good to have the rhymes but it’s not worth it if your story is sacrificed. This allowed Dic to pick up the victory but due to his lack of votes, he tied Xiej.

Shadow vs. Mordrid – This was an interesting match and seemed to be pretty even. Shadow wrote a good story but seemed to lack the proper wording to help propel him to a win. He had all the write ingredients but just didn’t bake it long enough. Mordrid, on the other hand, seemed to write a more consistently when it comes to his mechanics. Although his story may not have been as good, he just had all the pieces put together better than Shadow, which propelled him to a 3-1 victory.

K3 vs. Pent uP – This turned out to be a great match up. K3 wrote a solid verse with good multis, emotion and flow. The issue with this verse stemmed from the lack of detail. Some of the readers felt it as a little simplistic at times but was still a good verse. The only problem was you were facing a writer who is just so sound when it comes to his mechanics and story development. Pent’s story was well delivered. This allowed Pent to get the 8-0 shutout victory.

    3. Battle of the Week

    Christmas Without Her

Never thought I'd leave... sold all my costly dreams
To be near her, close enough to hear her call for me
Thought she's all I need as I decline in a loss of peace
Unable to stand or behave like a man as I crawl on knees

Praying for answers, but the questions have multiple choices
Debating with cancers that are becoming full of shit voices
Avoidance of everyone as I can't stop looking at pictures
Now her image makes an eclipse of pain
    like vampires pushed into mirrors
But I had to leave, financial gravity pulled me away
After a flood took my place... trailing footprints of waste
There was nothing left I could do, but still I treasure the jewel
I left behind in pleasures we fueled that always bettered my mood
She's learned a lot from me and I've gained from our journey
This relationship has maintained a grip every since she became my girly
My brain keeps working on ways to elevate her success
As if me taking a step is creating her breath
Though this year chasing my debts hasn't aided my stress
I'll never stop baking in sweat if that's what it takes for her best
8 days since I left California for work in North Carolina
No purple haze for my rest... instead it's torture from seeded dry buds
But no decrease in my love, it's just harder when sober
So I'm drowning in Smirnoff Twists til tomorrow is closer

You're the only girl I've held a purse for while shopping in stores
The only one I plot to adore and spoil rotten for sure
The shock I've absorbed still hits me as the season gets cold
Seeing the snow.. Thoughts of you here making peaceful angels
No need for halos... this alone makes serenity circle
As combinations of tears and snow falling brings visions of purple
So much emotional pain it becomes physically hurtful
With tension in muscles of my heart like being sent through the worst stroke
Bottle after bottle until the 6 pack disappears
Swallow til I'm hollow with me passed out in a chair

I awake eyes glazed and for once remember my dreams
December's the theme of this white Christmas I never had seen
Sharing a piece of it with the one person that caring brings grief
Inability to increase tranquility has me bearing a beast
Tearing through sheets as it's released like a werewolf in heat
Scary to see... but that's my other solution to pair off with sleep
Married to weed, though that's not close in comparing my needs
When it comes to cherishing scenes of me rearing my seed.....

    My dearest Gabby,
You know your daddy will be there for you
No matter the distance I travel to get it... through terrible moves
And unbearable moods even as I struggle in fares for my food
Any penny I have you can instantly grab for the care of your dues

    Sincerely from you loving father,

    Gabriel Wallace...

"Like a piece of ice on a hot stove, the poem must ride on its own melting." - Robert Frost

(Written on a bus from 1 town to the next when xmas shopping, to get into the feeling of a poem going off of itself, ridden on its own melting.)

At the flick of a wrist, I can scribble a list
of ridiculous myth, that fills, thickens the ribs
pen spills, thick in the midst of ruled wide pages
where blue line cages stills the meticulous script
a depiction is knit, purely metaphysical
the visual of lyrical rhythm thats writ is pivotal
gives spiritual lift, an added spliff is typical
to get this bic to flow a mystical residual

    City transportation aids the transformation
from the hands' awakenin to the stanza creation
street beats tempo in a timer where the sands-a-racin
the rear seat leaks flow to any b-boy's admiration
the tags withstand displacement, the vision absorbed
they run their course unignored, just like the piss on the floor
The decision to tour frequent stops, repetition galore
makes you the victim of your own rhetorical lore

End of the line, time to embrace the frigid night
watch the passengers align, standing in their dripping ice
in the heated ride, snow succumbs to a liquid plight
it comes to mind that it resembles an artists vivid life
It could be written right, or spitted nice with feeling while belting
Mechanically sound, but stricken trite, denounced, so tell me
If its the flow that makes the poem that much more wealthy
then the poet must ride on the tone of their inner melting

    Another day controlling the block..
It's cold - absorbing the shock while folding my box..
I'm loading my cart. The wind blows and violently cries..
Wiping my eyes I never leave my items behind..
Vibrant, alive - I set off roaming the streets..
Searching for empty pathways, so no one competes..
And no cops patrolling with ease; I pull out my marker..
Re-tracing my letters in print, in hopes it'll get darker..
I've chosen to harbor my misfortune and past..
I find a half-empty coffee cup, while sorting through trash..
Meal portions I grab even when the stench is apparent..
Rotten molded bread with turkey - a menacing sandwich..
I finish it famished, then I pour out the coffee..
Tissues to clean up the moisture, I'm deplorable, sloppy..
Kleenex - dispose of it properly, I sit on the edge..
    .. of the street, I'm in the way - I re-position instead..
.. with my feet; The sidewalks are congested, insane..
A perfect spot for breathless exchange, while begging for change..
I spend hours invested, the same as people with jobs..
I work long days and evenings - believing in God..
.. for the best, unseemly odd to those who are watching..
But content thrives when there is no other option..
Hoping I profit - some say no, giving a reason..
And others show tremendous love; depends on the season..
Almost finished, it's freezing; Rush hour, cars loathing the havoc..
While the cold temperature violates the holes in my jacket..
My sole's frozen and its patches are falling apart..
My old shoes hide the bug bites, appalled at the scars..
The day's gone and it's dark in the middle of winter..
I pack up and head to the kitchen for dinner..

    Around miserable mourners..
For my well-being they say - the church sits on the corner.
In attendance, my hunger exceeds the pots and peers..
Where chicken broth is served by fierce volunteers..
The mob is cleared, I'm given a hefty amount..
I finish it first, waiting for seconds, ready to pounce..
"Aye Eddy, it counts!" - A volunteer trying my nerves..
I complain, despising his words, while eyeing my third..
.. portion, but I'm tired I turn fulfilled, this menu..
Was great, I use the restroom and steal some tissue..
.. for late nights when mother nature's hurried and cold..
And the grass to wipe my ass is buried in snow..
I hurry and go to find me some shelter..
Thinking about my cardboard being light as a feather..
Not designed for this weather, but I'm used to the burden..
My home for the night is useless for certain..
I'm moving with purpose looking for what's vacant tonight..
Being homeless is just another day in the life..

A day in the life of a homeless person..

    5. Matchups

    1. Nique... 4-0
    2. Pent uP 7-0

Prediction – This will be battle of the week. Both writers are very skilled and are on a nice winning streak. This match-up will come down to which style of writing the readers like more. Nique has proven to be a great story developer while Pent is a mechanical genius. I believe that the readers will vote Pent as the 4-3 winner.

    3. MordridDeschain 4-2
    4. WarMachine 2-0

Prediction – Mordrid is coming off a nice victory against Shadow. Mordrid is looking to get his shot at the title but has to go through War in order to get there. War is a skilled writer and won’t make this easy. I think that Mordrid will win this match-up, 3-1.

    5. Memento 7-1
    6. Dicnyaeye 1-2

Prediction - This will be a great match-up and could very well be BOTW as well. Memento and Dic are coming off impressive victory and are looking to continue their streak. This is a very difficult match up to decide on so I will go with the person who I’ve seen prove himself, week after week. Memento wins 3-1.

    7. Xiej 1-2
    8. -Atreyu- 1-0

Prediction – Xiej has been constantly improving in this league and Atreyu is a good consistent writer. Atreyu still has some rust to work out in his verse while Xiej seems to be catching his stride. I think Xiej will win this match-up 4-0.

    9. Narsil 1-0
    10. Ace the Prophet 10-8

Predictions – Ace has signed into the league and is looking to face Narsil, who is coming off a nice victory against Dead. This will be interesting and I believe it will come down to who’s mechanics are better tuned. I believe Narsil will win this as Ace will like have some rust, 3-0.

    11. The_K3 2-1
    12. ShadowWarriorfs 18-15

Prediction – This should be in interesting match-up. I think K3 will post another great verse and will likely fail to vote. This will be his downfall this week as Shadow wins 3-0

    13. oNeiRiC 3-7
    14. Stacey James 0-1

Prediction – Both of these writers have room to improve and oNe has been improving greatly over the weeks. Stacey has great potential but I believe oNe will win this match-up, 4-0.

    15. DeadKing 0-1
    16. Vern Acular 0-0
    17. FórmÅl LôGíc 0-0

Prediction – Dead will win this because the other two no show. However, if all three show up, Vern should pick up the victory based on his level of hype.

    9. T.a.C-tical Interviews – No Interview this week. If you wish to be interviewed then hit T.a.C or myself up on AIM or PM during the week.

    10. Grinds My Gears – You know what really grinds my gears? Women who live by or promotes double standards. I see this a lot when it comes to business and legal issues. Now, women constantly demand that they should be treated equally when it comes to certain issues but treated like the ‘fairer sex’ in other. This is just retarded. Now, I’m all for women being treated equally and having a voice BUT that is only when it is consistent. If a woman want to be paid equally to a man and hold the same job positions as a man without having to go the extra mile then they should be treated better in other manor just for being the woman. I’ll give you an example. In custody battles, women have more of the power right from the start and most women will use that to try to hurt the man. Why women think it is cool to use a man’s child against him is beyond me but they seem to think that it doesn’t hurt the child any. Well, women you are wrong and pathetic. It is this kind of thinking that is why children are running around with the sickening behavior that they have nowadays. Women think that it’s ‘fair’ that a man should only see his child 4 days a month, seriously? This is why men don’t want women on their same scale in society and until they is consistency, there will always be major objections to this. Also, I am tired of women getting into a man’s face acting like she is going to fight him. All men know that the moment they put their hands on you, you’re on the phone with the cops having them arrested. If you want to be treated equally, then great make it universal, otherwise, shut the fuck up. This is what really grinds my gears.

    11. Conclusion – The league keep improving week after week and it is thanks to all of you participants in the league. The improvement in voting is helping younger writers hone their skills and become better. With the additions to a couple more vets, this league should have a solid week of performance and voting. I will be making a thread for top five verses again later in the week so please pick 5 of your favorite verses. Thank you to everyone who showed up and good luck to all the writers this week in the league.

Saw this before you edited it, but it wouldn't be the first time.

They're notorious for it and have ghosted for each other more often than Pain and I have for each other.

At least Pain and I have the decency not to vote on the verses that we ghosted for the other (not sure if they voted or not).

Dic definitely wrote his verse though, I've harassed him way to many times about being a bad father to know that his verse was genuine.

pent ups mechanics were garbage and good at the same time no offense

yea good multis and shit but that sounded forced as fuck

i wrote a simple small verse cause it was the holidays and i wanted to leave the rest of it to ur imagination

there was a lot of hidden meaning in it as well as hidden inners but its all good

2 stories of different scales but could soudn the same at the same time thats why i rehashed rhymes

hopefully ill have time to write this week cause new years is comin up

    good luck shadow

ill go extra mechanicay in since that seems to be what yall like and im more seasoned in that then yall can even comprehend :p

I liked your verse k3, but the topic, story development, and mechanics didnt stand out against your opponent in my opinion

    loL@ internet picture

I actually almost voted for Stacey James, and would have did I not re read Atreyu's verse again.

I predict Pent will win if Nique uses that same font, and I predict Nique will win if all Pent writes about is sex.

Still can't log in from my phone either, only on the home PC where the PW is saved. I couldn't PM the verse to anyone and didnt have any mods' emails so I emailed Dic and asked him to post for me.
