    1. Intro

Welcome back everyone to the next edition of the RSTL Magazine. It seems that the league is continuing to keep active as far as matches go. In the upcoming week, Shadow retained his belt against S. Issue and is now ready to continue his win streak against Rem. Lucifa has being eyeing Shadow’s title for a while now, mainly due to Shadow saying he’d eat Lucifa’s sh*t lol. Kryptical has re-entered the league and is up against an angry S. Issue. Word goes up against Souled and Kilo battles Street.

    2. Recap

This week we had one no show verse so we will start this week off with that breakdown

Lucifa – The rhymes in this verse was nice. It was a quick yet consistent display of rhyming which was enjoyable. The imagery and the flow was very good as well. I enjoyed the detail put into this verse with the small amount of words used. I wish you would’ve gone into more detail with this topic to perhaps develop the character more but I still enjoyed this verse.

Menso vs. oNeiRiC – This matchup was pretty interesting to read. Menso wrote a verse that was short and to the point. The wording was nicely done which helped the delivery of this. The rhymes and flow were all good and the readers seem to enjoy the story. oNe wrote a good verse that had a lot of good mechanics but didn’t seem to use the topic as well as Menso. The restriction on his verse to match Menso also hurt because it left out a lot of detail that the reader wanted to see. Menso won this matchup 4-0.

Word vs. Rem – This matchup was very evenly matched and it seemed to come down to which story the reader liked. Word wrote an improved story that had good rhymes and a nice flow. Rem wrote a good story as well that had a appealing story and a good concept. The difference to these matches came down to which story was more appealing to the reader. It was pretty evenly matched but in the end, Rem won this match up 2-1.

Shadow Vs. S.Issue – In this weeks Championship match, Shadow defended his title against S. Issue. Both of these writers wrote excellent stories and seemed to caught the reader’s eye. S. Issue’s verse wrote a verse well written, well rhyming verse while Shadow wrote a very well written, descriptive verse. The concept behind shadow’s verse seems to have been like a tad bit more but this match was difficult to call for the readers. In the end however, The readers like Shadow’s verse more and helped him retain his title, 2-1(3-1).

    3. Battle of the Week

    Grandpa’s Hymn
    Act IV: The Final Song

Melody begins its play with a sleek elegance
Bass line pulses with a beat of relevance
Piano keys sings harmoniously with the existing note
Voices now chants softly with a persisting hope
A birth is celebrated as the crowd chants silently
As a beautiful intercourse of noise dances vibrantly
The crowd closes their eyes to become a hostage to the music
Freely embracing the sound while their feet tap to it
As a girl slowly moves toward center stage
Lips pressed against the mic, face slowly begins to age
The sound begins to slow, becoming quiet and somber
The girl’s face ghostlike as if a memory still haunts her
Drums become deaf as violin strokes increase in motion
As a chorus of chords fills the air and release its potion

I’ve become tired, body beaten and bruised
Eyes burn with fire from weeping, I’m confused
Speaking too enthused as the doctor is reading the news
The result was “Cancer”, as I begin grieving the blues
My life has always been about receiving more chances
From drug abuse to alcohol, I’ve used all my stances
Hands begins to tremble as I realize this is my Final Song
Objects have lost their colors taste has all but gone
I am trying to remain strong but I am too weak
Muscle are eaten away as my skins begins to reek
Crying as I’m forced to watch my own death
Looking for someone but my family has already left
Their sorrows whisper of pain from watching my demise
Giving themselves false hope while tears fall from their eyes
Surprise jumps on my face as my grandchild still stares
Tears occur in my heart, realizing that someone cares
She was still a child, full of hopes and dreams
Grabbing my hand as the room filled with my chokes and screams
She seems to panic, as my voice now reassures her
“The cure for Cancer is radiation,” I said to deter
Her mind from overwhelming, my heartbeat began to slow
Losing consciousness as I told her she needed to go
“I need my rest,” I said so that no one would know
That my death was here, blood has stopped its flow
I’m sorry everyone but it is time I let go of life
I’m done fighting and my cells are turning to ice
    I love you all…

With a drop of a tear, her voice became muted
Cheeks are now red as she feels as if she looks stupid
The music continues to play, as the drums grow loud
Vocals become cheerful as her heart becomes proud
She smiles as the orchestra’s voices turns pleasant
She bows as the crowd cheers at her presence
She leaves the stage, staring out the window of her room
Wondering if he could hear her voice while resting in his tomb

    S. Issue

    "Mr. Zero Speaks Out"

Sitting here late, looking at John D. Long Lake
with it’s glass surface, heart hurting as we elongate
what has become the greatest hunt for a black fugitive
in a race stricken world. My color so useful then,
to determining criminal class and what I may do last,
how to attach me to Susan’s kids, leaving lives dashed.

An uproar, it began in October, Ninety-Four:
Susan Smith, ruthless bitch, blamed me for this gore.
I brazenly carjacked her, didn’t attack her but left
with her sons, both young, in the back seat’s cleft:
I just drove away, couldn’t stop, what about the cops?
Anyone could tell this Mazda Protégé was hot.
Somehow it took nine days of chase to catch up
with what was left of us. Her deceit was just enough.
Several people seem to have caught me on the scene
in between this town and the next as tires screamed:
witnesses state that a black man with the wheel in hand
drove through with two little kids at his command.
Back at the station the police consider their situation—
wondering how a mother can remain so complacent
in the face of certain terror, her only error exists
with her wrist, she can’t lie enough to make it stick.
After my ninth day on the road she lost control
and confessed under duress that she banished their souls:
the Mazda rolled into John D. Lake’s cold black water
her two boys distracted, strapped in for the slaughter.
I never knew a vehicle’s weight could resist gravity
but sadly it floated out, a steel boat travelling
quiet and smooth, but then a dive below blue veneer
ended their tiny lives: deaths concluded in fear.

I sit here staring, glaring past the water’s gleam—
a metallic husk below the surface’s aquatic sheen,
an abode for marine animals and a sort of gravestone
marking the kid’s home for more than a week, brave souls.
When she confessed it, it was obvious— I wasn’t arrested:
blessed with being invisible, a figment interjected.
As fog rises, I am blessed with this valley’s shaded rut
and fade into the scenery, a nigger criminal made up.

    topic: final song, life

    4. No Show Shrine

As I look down on the street
    with gritted teeth I repeat
    to myself "I feel incomplete"
without the love I lost yesterday
wondering if there was a better way
cos the scene is stuck on replay
his expression impressioned on my mind
behind the eyes that have cried
    so many times since
my divine prince died inside his
    own mind which deprived him
of his sanity .. so sad to see
    it lead to ultimate depravity
he wasn't the man he used to be
    he used to worship me
and he .. he was my man of steel
until the cut that would not heal
pussed and peeled .. blood conjealed
    until all I'm seeing is
a brutal being of futile feeling
with a skewed smile .. an evil grin
    grunting as he's breathing in
    my increasing lack of oxygen
    so I blugoened him
    through fear and knowledge
of what he was turning in to
    spilt his brains like porridge
cos of this years' burning issue
    a situation of world importance
nightmare a reality of dreams come true
for media moguls and press reporters
as the press reported the virus outbreak
snap shot scenes of violent outtakes
in newspapers and on TV shows
that was until the whole world froze
we watched the book of human sin grow
and now as I sit looking out my window
    on this frightful morbib evenin'
I can't stop believin' not even
the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse
    couldn't have possibly wanted this

    5. Matchups

    C. ShadowWarriorfs 30-16
    2. Rem Lynxis 3-1

Prediction – This week should be an interesting Championship match. Rem has only one loss and Shadow has defended his title 6 consecutive times. This week will come down to which writer will be the most creative. I believe that Rem will have a great opportunity here to prove his talents and will upset Shadow, 2-1.

    3. Menso 1-1
    4. Lucifa 1-0

Prediction – This matchup will be interesting because these writers have very different styles of writing. Menso likes to get right to the point with his topics while Lucifa will go into a bit more detail. In order for Menso to win however, Menso will need to step outside of his comfort zone. That being said, I believe that Lucifa will win this matchup 3-0.

    5. Kryptical 4-1
    6. S. Issue 5-2

Prediction – I believe that this matchup will be battle of the week material. Both of these writers are VERY good and consistent. Krypt may be a bit rusty and I believe that S. Issue will take advantage of that to propel him to a 2-1 victory.

    7. word.smyth 1-2
    8. oNeiRic 0-1

Prediction – This will be a fun read seeing as both of these writers are very different writers. Word seems to be getting some steam and oNe is shaking off the rust. I believe that this week, oNe will win this one with something creative, in a 3-1 victory

    9. Kilography 0-0
    10. streetartmuzik 0-0
    11. GuT-cHeCk 0-1

Prediction – Both of these writers are new to the league and this match could go either way. With the addition to Gut who hasn’t really dropped a verse in the league. I believe that all three will no show but if I had to pick on to show…it would be GuT.

    9. T.a.C-tical Interviews – No interview this week because T.a.C. is a gay homosexual and has bitch tits.

    10. Grinds My Gears – You know what really grinds my gears, overreacting. I can understand when someone is upset about how a situation has progressed but going to extremes to prove your point seems a bit excessive. I understand that certain things should not happen but avoiding the people involved only hurts them and yourself. So next time you want to get mad about something someone has said or done, remember, nothing is every THAT serious. This is what really grinds my gears.

    11. Conclusion – This week was a good week. I am happy with the increased voting and participation in the league. I hope everyone can continue with this kind of activity. We had a lot of good matchups this week once again and I believe that next week will be even better. I would like to inform everyone that the league will likely continue a little past week 52 so that the Tag tournament can fail. I believe that our tournament can be more successful and I hope all can participate in that as well. T.a.C and Nasty, please start recruiting for this. Thanks everyone and good luck in their upcoming matches.

Reverse that 1-3, bro... and watch what I come with in creativity... i'm just getting started, should have won that last one, or at least tied... this round I'm going to write as if I'm going against you... ;)

Haha. Shadow knows I can write and I seem to go in trends. I guess he thinks I'm on an up swing, but I agree your verse last week was Wicked~-.

Any idea on a topic yet?
