didn't like lloyd when he first came on the scene with 'southside feat. ashanti', because i found his voice annoying

i've taken a liking to him though, and i love his new album 'street love'

what do y'all think of it?

    Very throwback slow jam.

What instrument is being used for the melody line in the first few bars?

hmmm... His voice isn't as annoying in this song. It's actually kind of nice.

I heard his new single (i'm guessing) and laughed about it.

may give him another shot later as long as his voice isn't that synthesized and horrid on his other tracks.

prince was the first to come to mind when i first heard the beat play

    no idea

the song has a very seminal feel to it... it would have been ideal to have this as his first-ever track (better choice than 'southside' feat. ashanti) as it does a lot of justice to his voice and establishes his image.

[funny], i used to think his voice was annoying, but it's grown on me to the point that i can even go back to his old songs that annoyed me and not be annoyed anymore

    kid is dope

did you peep the song in my second post?

tell me what you think of that one

i rarely ever agree with you on anything artistic, so i can't recommend his new album to you [funny]

    it's sick to me, though

Ahhh... I'll keep that in mind.

I kind of know what you're talking about, though

I definitely would have paid more attention if this was his first single. It definitely would have established him better.

Thanks for posting this song; I'm actually becoming addicted to it. It's smooth.

I'm not at that point, but he's completely different in my eyes because of 'Street Love.'

Why don't you become a paid member of his street team? (Does he have one?)

I bought the album off the strength of the first single. I was hoping there would be more uptempo stuff, but I can't say I was totally disappointed. I can play his album from beginning to end without skipping ...so that says a lot. I don't love it enough to have a break down for each song, though. I give it three stars out of five.

Correction: Not the first single, but "Get it Shawty" That first single is the only one I do actually skip. Still three out of five stars.

    I liked "You"

get it shawty, I haven't heard enough times to know how I feel about it, but the chorus sticks in my head/

The song that Brah posted is alright to me... definately not a bad track... but I'm not excited about it... I like " You" a little better.

I was considering buying his album, but I'm not sure I'll like it enough for it to be worth my money. I may like it in spots, but not consistently. For me to not regret buying an album... listening to it the first few times has to get me excited in a way that makes me want to play it over and over.....its weird.

Thanks for posting that song tho, brah.

He's growing on me a little, but reminds me of a high pitched but more mello chris brown.
I heard 'you' come on my Pandora station and loved it.
