05-08, I didn't even realize he was around still until one of the execs I know dropped C3 on my lap and asked me to take a listen.

Months before the album dropped I told him 'Milli' was gonna be the hot single off the album... I don't deny Wayne's a great artist; but don't put him up there with the greats. EVER. He has a lot of polishing, until he's on that level.

I'm not trying to sell anything.

    I don't think he's a goat.

I don't feel he's as great as lames like Piff do.

But, when I heard C3 I felt it was a solid album.

Wayne's a great artist at best. A GOAT, no. He makes very catchy songs and very crappy love songs.

didn't read through all the comments, so appologies if someone posted this already

one has to keep in mind that wayne put out a SHITLOAD of material in a very short space of time, so to me wayne is both garbage and amazing

carter-series + drought & dedication-series is great shit imo (drought 3 is prolly top 5 mixtapes ever)

rebirt is on the other hand fucking garbage

if one really have heard through wayne's materiale and is a fan of music in general, I really have a hard time believing that is possible not to aknowledge the quality

no, he's no nas, but his approach to the lyrics is on some andre 3k-playfullness

What is it that makes him a good artist? good artists are original, but everytime I hear a lil wayne verse, I hear the same tired punchlines over and over.

eh... I dont see much flexibility in his music. its either about the wack punchlines, fucking, or shouting out young money members.

    agreed.

I cant respect his hustle... theres a reason the real artists like kanye, lupe, and nas dont do 10 thousand mixtapes a year and thats because they believe in quality over quantity.

which 2 amazing albums would these be? I've heard on 0f his 07 mixtapes and part of no ceilings... nothing to write home about...

You say its fair for someone to call him wack... my question to you is if there are so many amazing hip hop artists out there, why waste your time with someone thats not great at all?

I said he was good, never said creative. He knows how to take what's hot today and make people love it more. Not that it's creative or new, it's just forcing the fact upon people for the benefit of money.

What I meant by flexibility was the types of song he does. He can do club songs, he can rattle off freestyle songs, he can do gangsta shit, he can do love songs, etc...like, no matter what idea you came to him with he could do it, whether it'd be good or not

He has good flow... I wouldnt say theres any thing amazing about it... someone like tech n9ne or elzhi or old eminem or krayzie bone or 94-96 Nas would be an example of someone who mastered flow.

...and as far as style goes I REALLY dont get what people love about him.

You know who Lil Wayne's STYLE reminds me of? One of my favorite rappers of all time AFTER his downfall.

new bizzy bone. bizzy bone after 2004 has an extremely scratchy ass voice, says the most retarded nonsensical shit, puts out waaaaaaayyyy too much music, sounds high as fuck all the time, throws together verses without regard to quality, and every so often spits a line that makes you question his sexuality.
