My last couple days of threads have all been Corner Gas references, and not just random nonsense.

Eg. the chili dog vs playing piano, and the improving RM.

"You can have your morals. I'll take money and fame"

This show is absolutely brilliant. The characters are immediately developed within the first few lines you hear from them, and the writing parallels shows like Seinfeld, without relying on wackiness. The dynamics between the characters is so equal, you can see how, and why, any minor change in their everyday routine (such as someone voting differently in a jam contest) will be felt throughout every character.

Who gives a fuck about rep. This is about Corner Gas, one of the greatest comedic accomplishments in television, ever. The day man even come close to creating something as genius, he'll realize how great the show really is, its greatness will then be unsurpassable.
The title alone is a subtle example of how clever the show is.

It wasn't a bad show. It doesn't have a laugh track, and that's usually what makes or breaks a comedy for most people.

Paul Martin was on it too. Back when he was in power. I couldn't find his part, though.

No kidding. Usually Canadian humour is like a cross between the bad elements of British and American humour.

Caution: May Contain Nuts on the aboriginal channel is pretty good. Tuesdays at 10pm on APTN.

that and you can always tell a canadian show cuz they just look different and feel different. Its cuz of production budgets.

I always wondered why that was. I usually skip past those and most other Canadian shows without giving them a chance, probably for that reason. Corner Gas took years before it grew on me.

Little Mosque on the Prairie looks like it might go somewhere.
