I'm 22, and if it was actually possible i'd put money on J. Kidd, Kobe, Lebron, Duncan and Shaq.

Y'all dudes cant let go of the past. Todays players are stronger, faster and more skilled than the players of yesteryear. Get over it.

they're stronger and faster than the guys of the 60s and 70s...not the 90 bright guy.

and For the record...Payton in his prime used to dominate J. Kidd, Olajuwon dominated shaq (as well as all the other dominant centers of his era) and Duncan used to get mauled by Karl Malone well after malones prime.

and if you'd take lebron today over larry bird in his prime you are infact a retard. Lebron doesnt even play defense half the time and you wanna match him up against one of the best shooters in NBA history...lol

You may be 22. You probably didnt start REALLY following ball until you were 12...right around the time when Jordan retired and all those other guys were already gone. Im giving you the benefit of the doubt by saying you arent old enough to know any better. If thats not the case, then you are just stupid...lol...no other explanation.

Yeah there was a lot of hacking but defensive schemes were less complex then, meaning it was actually easier to score.
there were 2 less teams when Jordan made his run and there was less talent.

Just like today there are stars on every team.

    No the fuck they wouldnt.

AI, Kobe, Duncan, Shaq, Kidd, Nash, Wade and Lebron are w/out a doubt.

dog u are so fuckin stupid its ridicuous, u gonna comapre a team that plays a fuckin 82 game season a and 7 game playoff series with 3 rounds until u get to the fuckin championship, team usa dont get the same fuckin time to develop chemistry like teams in the regular season....

then not only did them niggas had 4 hall of famers they had a fuckin hallf of fame COACH that won 9 championships so what the fuck u trying to tell me foo|? so in all thats 5 hall of famers in general 4 players one coach, aint no excuse on why them niggas lost other than motherfuckas being divas

kobe taking a game winning threee still worry about karl malone trying to get at his bitch all while he was in deep shit for fuckin the snowflake in colorado yet downplaying shaq talking about him being fat and outta shape

gary payton went to the lakers to win but yet he couldnt get with phils "triangle offense" and karl malone was too focused on kobe's hoe and his mom dying that year...

niggas was just trash, aint had shit to do with demanding the ball especially when the team GOT TO THE FUCKIN FINALS.... when u get to that point all them excuses is irrelevant unless 3 of the top players have a injury like shaun livingston

for starters, there wasnt two teams left. The heat, Hornets, Magic, Timberwolves, Raptors, Grizzlies and Bobcats ALL didnt exist before 1990.

So take all the stars off those teams and divide em up evenly across the other teams.

and yes...those dudes would have started...want proof? All three of em were career backups...then ended up starting once the raptors and grizzlies joined the league.

Now tell me this...who are the two bonafide stars on 76ers? The Grizzlies? Hornets? How about the wolves? SOnics Celtics? Where are their bonafide stars at? For the record, by two bonafide stars Im talking about Payton and Kemp, Drexler and Kersey, Stockton and Malone, Shaq and Penny, Marbury and Garnett, Kidd and Mashburn...

    that doesnt exist anymore.

as far as top 50 of all time, lebron and d-wade arent on it yet. They still have a ways to go. Shaq was ALREADY on it...so the only people added to it would be kobe, AI Duncan kidd and nash. SO kobe played with 5 of the top 50...jordan played against 18 of the top 50.

like I said...you dont know what the fuck your talking about...the more you speak the more obvious that fact becomes. Just stop talking.

damn u a simple minded ass dude, did u just start watching basketball in '97 or some shit?

lol @ u saying stronger and faster like we talking bout players in the 1940 - 70's... lol @ cant let go of the past, theres no logic in your post other than the simple cop out "well since its the future than the current players are better than the past players/arguement won"

fuck outta here mayne.... todays league aint even got no fuckin big men fuckin with the centers of the 90's fool

u probably on some shit like eddy curry > patrick ewing... even alonzo mourning with his one kidney healthy ass still swatting these young niggas shit...

league dont even got any legit big men that can compare to olajuwon, shaq, robinson, ewing, mourning, mutumbo... mayne these niggas now is just trash...

why is this even a topic y'all?

    lmao

Big men of the 80's and early to mid 90's shit on the big men of today.

They are barely any TRUE big men anymore.

You got Duncan...I guess Yao Ming even though he's about as frail as they come, Amare Stoudamire when he feels like playing around the rim, Dwight Howard could become one...Ben Wallace can only play one side of the ball,

lmfao, fuck outta here man. Name a better on the ball defender in the league now than Joe Dumars was when he played Jordan? Gary Payton? Mookie Blaylock?

Look u dumbfuck, Jordans reign was from 91-98 minus two years, the only teams that werent in the league were the Bobcats, Grizzlies, and Raptors. And ur argument is that those benchwarmers started on expansion teams? HA!!! What do u think expansion teams are made of??? Benchwarmers!!!

and when u name me 2 stars on every team in 93 then i'll name u two stars on every team today.

And when those 5 players that u just named got put on the list who gets pushed off? And when other players like Nowitzki, and Melo come up who gets taken off?

Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett, T-Mac, Bruce Bowen, J-Kidd, and Ron Artest. Joe Dumars would not be able to keep up w/ the guards of today.

Yes there are a few that could keep up w/ today but as a whole the athletes today are way better than before. How many guards from the early 90's are as fast as Lebron James, Wade, Arenas, Kidd, T.J. Ford, Arenas, AI, Jayson Williams? How many big men could get up and down the floor like todays big men? How many point guards are stronger than Chauncey Billups, Baron Davis? There are a few but it doesnt amount to the number that are in the NBA today.

so ur telling me KG never ever guards two guards and small forwards? Ur telling me Bruce Bowen aint still locking people up? T-Mac hasnt played D since he left Toronto?? You shut the fuck up, its obvious u stopped watching NBA 10 years ago. Kidd's old ass still plays great defense.

lol, first of all, don't throw Garnett in there, because Rodman shuts that down.

Kobe has 4 All NBA Defensive First Team awards. MJ had 9, and 6 consecutive.

    Payton > Kidd

Stockton = Holds NBA record for steals. > Kidd, Bowen

Uh, what are you basing the Dumars comment on? Dumar had to guard people such as Magic, Jordan, Drexler, and Bird. Four of the greatest to ever play the game. Four people who in their prime are better than 99.9% the league right now.

Artest is your only argument there.

lmmfao...you are retarded son. The only person on that list that is really fast is AI. None of those dudes are faster than the average 2 guards in the early 90s. And you wanna talk about getting up and down the court? Nigga that all they fuckin did in that time period...everybody played like the suns and the mavs...wide open fastbreak style offense. The only exception was like the old Knicks teams and thy could run they just like bullying people. The reason big men get up the floor now is cuz most of em are really small forwards playing the 4 or 5 because their arent any big men. KG is a tall 3. Dirk is a tall 3 guard. Tim Duncan is a 4, so is stoudamire and ben wallace. Magic Johnson would be a center in todays league. Boris Diaw plays center for the suns and he's a fucking 2 guard...lol

as far as point guards...lol...baron davis is a weak version of Tim Hardaway. Terrell brandon, kenny Anderson, Penny, Payton...all of them were just as strong or stronger than the guys today.

im going to repeat this and hopefully you'll stop talking and save your breath. YOU OBVIOUSLY DONT KNOW WHAT THE FUCK YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT.

Rodman shuts what down?? Payton is better than Kidd, i'll give u that. Stockton has more steals but u are a fool if u think he's a better defender than Kidd or Bowen, especially Bowen.

Dumars would get left in the dust if he had to defend todays players.

And y'all gotta remember there's no handchecking now. Scottie Pippen, one of the greatest defensive players ever, said himself on ESPN that if he had to play with todays rules he wouldnt be as good.
