^Of course... Jay can do no wrong because he's Jay Z.
Sure he can. You heard "Vol. 3" didn't you??
Stop hating and go listen to the album.
my thoughts exactly. you guys are comparing apples to oranges.
You must mean Vol. 2...
Every jay album barring Blueprint, RD and black album - and possibly this upon further listens, are average.
No... I meant "Vol. 3, Life and Times of S. Carter".
^I felt both were a likkle meh, with some nice tracks here and there.
Lost Ones was gorgeous to me. Nicer than anything on the album.
I'd say Jay was more introspective than ever on this album. And with him it feels genuine - Admitting that the same girl you bragged about having on your arm loves her work more than you and it probably won't last? That's an awful lot for anyone to admit, especially a rapper and especially Jay.
My thoughts on KC.
-Not to be antagonistic but Doctor's Advocate is a WAY MORE SOLID effort...it's not even close
-Dig a Hole is actually a pretty coherent diss track. It's more like a warning shot rather than real deal shit, but potent enough for Dipset because they are, as a collective, a joke.
-JustBlaze is the true star of this album. Oh My God, Show Me, and Kingdom Come are the best produced tracks by far...not even close
-3 MEDIOCRE Dre beats. 30 Something is a decent beat, but even that has me underwhelmed. Again, Dre not appearing on Game's shit may be a blessing in disguise, because mostly ALL of Game's production is better than the 3 Dre tracks
-Show Me What you Got....is a WASTED classic beat. Could have been lyrically packed with fire throughout but Jay wasted it. Would rather have had Budden tear it down
-Ooook overall, sort of like Jordan coming back wearing 45...took one album to get the rust off. His next album, by that analogy should be dope as hell
