ill take a Dominant big man over a skilled wing player any day...

durant is obviously more polished as far as his overall game and will be a dominat player in his own right...

But Great big men win Championships....Oden is definately in that category...

Quoted for truth. What did I hear I think Mark Jackson or Bill Walton say the other day: "people tend to forget the last 6 championships have been decided by teams either beating Shaq or losing to him"

So there you go. Shaq either won, or whatever team beat him won.

yall listen to too many talking heads
it really depends on what your team needs
the heat won last year ... not on the mavs inability to stop shaq
but on the mavs inability to stop wade
they're on a tear this year ... without a dominant center
on the strength of two really good wing players (dirk and howard)
and some really good guard play
if you've ever watched durant play ... he plays more dirk than garnett or tmac contrary to what the talking heads will tell you
these people get paid to comment
    not to analyze

i think anyone trying to settle this debate ... by simply breaking it down to "take a big man you always take a big man"
is foolishy excluding a large number of variables
because if it were that easy ... there'd be no scouting jobs and no need for debate or drafts

[pus] It's a pretty big coincedence that the last 6 championships were either won by Shaq or the champions went through him though huh? What do you suppose that means? I never said the Mavs lost cause they couldn't stop Shaq.

Give me your (worthless) breakdown of why championships seem to follow Shaq then. LOL, at trying to make that out to be unimportant.

It means if you can beat Shaq (basically) you're good enough to win the title.

Here how about this, smart guy. Aside rom the Bulls, what's the last team to win a championship without an (at least once nominated) all star center. Take your time  you're gonna need it.

So Tim Duncan never played center? Ever?

Cause I'm 100% positive I've seen him quite a few times at center. And he's listed as a C/PF. But good try at getting around it.

    Is that your final answer?

    when they won they championship
    duncan did not play center
there's no getting around it ... what's listed on paper
and what happens on the court are two different things
    there's no getting around anything
you said name one that wasnt one by a center ... tim duncan
when the pistons beat the lakers i dont think ben wallace was an allstar center that year either
you're reaching trying to fit something general to something specific

and actually now that i think about it
the only time i've seen duncan play center is on the us team
when he came in the league robinson was there
they replace robinson with rasho who was ass
rasho swapped minutes with nazr for a while
and now they got some other nobody
but they've always had a center so duncan can play his natural position
the whole argument is silly though
every year there's a new set of rules that shifts the way the game is played
and while in general great big men have won championships
great big men have also not won championships
it all boils down to what the team needs
hell some teams would be better off taking a point guard rather than either one of these guys
it's not like any team in the league doesnt have a player they're building around right now and have just been waiting for years to get either one of these guys

You're either retarded or blind or just flat out don't watch any Spurs games if you've never seen Duncan playing center. I sure do see him matched up on Yao, Shaq etc. all the time.

But you win biggest fag wad on some technicality you're trying to exploit. Congratulations.

and for the most part they kept duncan off shaq so that he wouldnt get tired
the only time they really matched him up on someone really big is when the wing men are too fast for him

Tim Duncan is not a center. He play the 5 on occasion for matchups, but he's a power forward.

    Don't attempt to justify ignorance.

Tim Duncan, when they show any time on TV, any time, is listed as a C/PF. Back in the toybox with you. Who took you out in the first place?

seems like you're the one trying to "be right"
    over a technicality
tim duncan plays about as much center as rasheed wallace does
