If you can listen to this and still say that C.L. Smooth is wack, then debate over... I can't argue with fools.

These verses shit on Kendrick's whole career thus far.

And for real, can somebody tell me if Pete Rock is Joey Bada$$'s pops? Those two are almost a spittin' image.

Overexaggerating as fuck. Kendrick doesn't have anything different to say, what he says it has already been said. He didn't had the impact Eminem had when Em first came in. And no, I'm no 2Pac fan, but Kendrick would've been eaten back in the day. He probably would've find a niche but he wouldn't have shined as much.

Blu has a lil Nas, O.K. and CL Smooth in him... he makes it his own... he's not a clone... but he isn't doing anything new.

Innovation is not a necessity for great music.

lol @ assuming I haven't heard that, is just as silly as assuming I was a young dude.

It's decent, which is what CL was always and forever. Painfully average. He ruined absolute classic beats on SS. That's what made SSII so much better, because I was listening to Kweli, Phontiggalo and Kardinall on PR's shit and LESS of CL.

Eaten by WHO? Did Marshall get eaten? Nope. If Kendrick is using the style he's using today in this hypothetical, he'd dominate the west coast and NY cats would love him. I look at it like, what he would've added. Imagine a Kendrick verse on Reasonable Doubt, Capital Punishment...City of Godz remix AZ ft. Kendrick Lamar.

That doesn't sound dope as fuck to you??

Wow... who are your favorite rappers then? CL average? Wow... perfect voice, perfect mic presence, perfect flow, poetic lyrics, variable schemes... I mean, who's flow was more fluid? Kendrick can't flow on beat consistently to save his life. CL paints pictures with eloquence and street flavor... a perfect combination.

Kendrick's voice is his biggest handicap... and his flow is sometimey... sometimes, it's on point, sometimes it's not.

He's poetic and he's ferocious... but I need more to call you GREAT.

Of course he has influences but his style is completely his own.

There's a difference between invention and innovation. He didn't invent a new wheel, he just made the old one better.

And yes it is. Every artist doesn't need to be innovative, but the culture as a whole does.

Which is why music has stagnated recently, outside of electronic music.

God damn you should hop off of my dick. Just because you're incapable of forming coherent thoughts doesn't mean you get to be cheerleader while the big boys do the real talking. Contribute or shut your faggot ass up.

Any flow that Kendrick does that's off beat is obviously on purpose. There is a clear difference between emcees who can't ride the beat and niggas who experiment. I suppose you think Grafh can't ride a beat properly either.

Favorite rappers? From what? Liiiiike, 10 years ago? Back then I was listening to JLive, ChinoXL, Canibus and Joe Budden off the top of my head. CL Smooth making PR beats less great than they should have been = bad enough. But when he hopped on a Nujabes beat and went strait up CL Smooth brand average on it...I was like fuck this nigga. He's so bland and have no interesting perspective to who he is or his material.
