I figured he just dropped the control verse to stay relevant but it helped in another way...

my nigga just went platinum. I bow down to this muthafucka.
The dickrider is strong on this one.
god damn Jay-Z ain't even go platinum, and Kanye only just about broke gold? hip hop dead in the mainstream man
jay technically is about to go double plat if you count the samsung sales. and 800,000 in just a month is excellent in this day and age.
why wouldn't they count the samsung sales?
the kanye one more shocking though - how can Ye only gone gold, and his sales now down to 6,000 a week
I guess Kendrick gone plat, that's pretty big
They didn't count them, I asked.....They were bought by a single company as part of a deal jay has with them, so who knows he may have given them away
wow at yeezus....kim is the bread winner
would like to think ye's horrid sales were because word got out that yeezus sucks
sadly music hasn't gone the same way as films yet
your N ...... you know the guy ?
dude Jay-z dropped it rather recently and his sales are huge, 300 k today is like 800 k in 2004, basicaly people downlaod shit for free.
hiphop is maybe more alive in the mainstream then ever, check the billboard charts (google them) more rap then ever, Charlamange tha god saying it's a new golden era of hiphop
there's like 10 huge rappers today, and more ones doing solid
yes it is excelent, very much, more then I expected after getting 1 mill off already
you guys are scoffing the fact that kanye went gold in 2013? thats an almost impossible feat nowadays.
not for someone with the stature kanye's supposed to have
that's exactly what I'm sayin
ain't nuttin to do wit downloading man, I was alive in 2004, people was downloading everything back then too. mainstream for hip hop just ain't what it was
what, that's what I'm sayin
fuck is goin on wit y'all man lol
ain't nuttin do wit downloading - but everybodies sales went down, pop rock everybody. Chart position wise hiphop is doing great, but the same chart positions bring you less sales, 2003 =/= 2013
in 2004 it wasn't common for almost everyone to have a smartphone or an mp3 player. plus people could just look up a song on youtube in 10 seconds. getting free music nowadays is easier than ever before.
he was already relevant before he dropped it, don't see your point.
yeah, he dropped it as a statement, it just happened to wake up everyone else in the game.
I love that he dropped that verse!
