Really? I remember Cormega callin' him the "white Primo" back in '00.

I remember he reminded me of Primo right when he came out with Dilated.

Nowadays, his style is less like Primo's and more his own.

I've always felt 9th was missing something, too... but Alch came across as fully formed to me.

I think Exile is better than both of them right now.

word i feel you here too.....preemo is often more 4 bar or even 2 bar simple than many, but he chops a sample and makes that shit well preemoed(new verb)......making beats is easy, making dope beats is kinda hard, and making songs that are instrumentals is the most dificult.......preemo makes beats that a rapper kills flat out.....sounding bad over a preemo beat is difficult......kanye makes really dope really wide varieties off shit but at the end he always sounds best on his most creative shit(or jay)......then dudes like rjd2 at least on his first album, don't even need lyrics to make full songs......then there are a whole host of dope beat makers that make 4-8 bar repeats and never do more than just make my head nod a bit.....but i like unique the best....dilla, knxledge etc.....

yea i feel like he def has his own or is growing his own style more now.....but i heard so many of the "the next" things i don't buy into any....not even like black milk is the next dilla stuff, black is himself and dope on his own

That's tuff. I appreciate Primo obviously, but Kanye basically took what Pete Rock, Rza, Primo did and took to a huge level, took to the main stream so you have to respect both of these men, and if Kanye Never came out, alot of muhfuckas would have never heard of Primo, or say that his beats are wack!

yup youre right. idk why i never thought about it like that before but maybe because his loops are smoother and more integrated to the beat. preems beats are more robotic

low key it kind of just hit me now too that alc > preem

    he surpassed him now actually

ain't no god damn way alchemist is better than Preme... Preme a legend in the game, he made some of the greatest beats of all time. yeah I'd prolly put kanye above him now in terms of how much I'm feelin the beats but that's cause you can say the same about Kanye, both of them tore up classic 5 mic albums wit they production

alchemist got some nice shit but he nowhere near that level

word at dude who said Exile tho, he been killing it last few years:

premier is better than alch though, no disrespect to alch
