i feel like the black album isn't really a classic.
i liked the album but it's not a classic.

the production needs to be better for one thing.

I'm not really gonna argue this because this might have to do with the fact that I was going through some shit back in 09, but Blueprint 3 is my favorite Jay-z album hands down, even though he was a better rapper on reasonable doubt...

I just love the vibe bp3 had... I also love the perspective jay was rapping from... the older cat teachin these new niggas what the deal is...

I said this in AEH. MCHG is too high Vol 2 and AG need to switch. And RD and BP1 need to switch.

I listened to this a few days ago too and it sounded way better than the first time. I agree with your other post about Kingdom Come and BP3 being underrated. I'm not a fan of BP2 though if he would have dropped all the whacks and kept the good songs then he has a case. The only thing I'd change is switch Vol 1 with either MCHG or Vol 2 and then switch the last two.

Kingdom Come n Hip Hop is Dead got me through 06 to 07, some filler on KC, but the great shit is great, plus who wasn't happy Jay was back??

BP3 is a lil overrated on the list, but it's still a good album, not as good as Kingdom Come or BP2 that's forsure..like foreal Hov? I fucks with American Gangsta heavy too, Vol.1 def #3/4 though with BP n RD 1/2 respectfully...Black Album can even be #2 to me on a good day, depends on the vibe...

but Magna Carta was flowin real nice today, shit got a weird vibe for a Jay album, it's like half all star type tracks feel/half cohesive album feel...it's cuz its hard to figure out this album's concept..Nickels n diiimes

Imo he only put magna carter so high as he would look pretty stupid ranking his latest album one of his worst.

I agree with this list... I mean, it's HIS opinion... he did the work... lol... fans kill me. My only change is that I would put AG higher, but that's just me... art connects with different people on different levels. I think RD is overrated, but most artists consider their first projects their "baby" and they usually let public opinion sway their opinions of their work, as well.
