Did you even read this whole thread? I'm not going into Tech 9 because like I said before I don't really mess with him. I'm talking about the topic at hand. Free Weezy has stated NOTHING and I mean NOTHING to convince anyone here that Lil Wayne is better than Jay-Z. He's come off more like a stan than a person with hip hop knowledge. People aren't even stanning on Jay-Z either. Everyone can agree that he's overrated, but to say Wayne is better than him? nahhhhhhhhhh son.

Long story short, people stay hyping up popular artists way too much and constantly try to discredit the icons that have paved the way for the shit you hear today. I mean hell, didn't Soulja Boy go platinum? Is he now one of the GOATs?? Fuck outta here.

Psyfa: Soulja Boy went platinum? You don't like Soulja boy?

Ok - those are the facts. Anything else is opinion.

Negligence: I've never called someone a "stan" in my life ... I don't talk like that. Mother taught me that when you point your inger at someone you've got three left and they're pointing back at yourself.

Twampsin: You know who you are. You know where you live. I was only trying to help.

hahahaha! Don't make me laugh kid!

Same dude who says, "I suspect Fat Joe is soft in real life"

then the next sentence says, "But I still wouldn't fuck with him"

Fat Joe could be soft, but he's harder than you when he's sleeping. And you obviously know that.

I never said whether or not I liked Soulja Boy. How is Lil Wayne better than Jay-Z? Answer that.

How? There are many ways in which one can be better than another.

What I've been stating is that Lil Wayne, speaking in terms of recent history, is better than Jay-Z at selling albums (over the past 6-7 years) - making LiL Wayne a more relevant player in the rap game.

You probably want to discount the value of being able to sell. But I'd like to remind you that selling albums is a frequent boast of Jay-Z himself - only Wayne happens to do it better.

Does Jay-Z have an alternate purpose for making music? Answer that.

seriously, go drink the shit thats under the sink

highest selling has nothing to do with talent. its marketing. waynes on a major label who will pay more to get his shit on the radio and on mtv/whoever shows music videos.

tech doesnt have that money. he's became the top selling independent artist basically off word of mouth since he isnt getting the air time wayne is.

now tell me. what shows more talent? sucking birdmans dick to get on a major label (before you say im talking all this gay shit, there has been people who have gone on record and said wayne and birdman do more than jus kiss, which is pretty fuckin gay to begin with), or building yourself from the ground up to take over the underground scene?

i know im taking the tech road, given the opportunity.

TaC ... so Tech's talent spread by word of mouth huh? ok fine ...

Answer me this, does every person who hears a Tech song like him? Is it just a fact of life that that would happen?

If you say yes, then I'd have to disagree with you.

If you said no, then I'd say you were being honest.

So, if that's the case, if liking Tech is a matter of taste ... then there must be a reason why no one has thrown a lot of money behind his promotion.

Because - which record executive doesn't like money? If everyone who heard Tech loved him, he'd have the backing. Especially since, according to you, he's already got the massive following.

Now... about the homo shit. How do you know about Wayne and Birdman's supposed fucking? Word of mouth, righ ...

And yet, word-of-mouth (your word) tells me that Tech is great... yet I disagree with it.

The only logical conclusion is: Word of mouth is not scientific absolute incontrovertible fact.

We believe what we want to believe.

    Now relax to dis one:

First ... I said the past 6-7 years, that's '03-'04 onwards ... Jay did well with the Blueprint ...but that was '01. What have you done for me lately?

Second ... I believe those charts are based off spins, not sales.

when did i say everyone had to like tech? its opinion. the part that isnt opinion is the talent difference between tech and wayne.

    flow - tech
    rhyme schemes - tech
    stupid 'shit' lines- wayne
    club hits - wayne
    content - tech

tech is doing his own thing. strange music is killing it. his promotion is on the internet/underground though. that shit aint getting him on the radio, or his videos on tv.

    fame doesnt equate success.

if you cant realize that, you're even stupider than i thought, knowshitall

    you cannot pick and choose

if we're going off sales for whos greater, it has to span their career.

jay has had 11 number 1 albums. how many has wayne had?

    I'm talking about relevance.

Pop culture is ALL about relevance.

Relevance is no respecter of ancient history ... unfortunately.

    Word.

Labels were smart to not sign Pearl Jam, The Offspring, Nirvana, yadda yadda yadda.

If there's anything record labels know, it's what sells.

Probably why they're doing so well nowadays.
