But he shits on Johnny J though. The catalog ain't even close. And J Dilla would have sounded good with Pac. Pac would have killed beats like "Heat" that J Dilla gave to Common.

Didn't know he passed though. RIP.

Not a Top 10, but some overlooked gems of different styles...

    Bone Thugs n Harmony - E. 1999 Eternal
    DJ Muggs vs Gza
    Kno - Death is Silent
    CunninLynguists - Oneirology
    Niggas With Latitude
Qwel and Meaty Ogre - Freezer Burner
Asher Roth and Nottz - The Rawth EP
Aesop Rock - None Shall Pass
    Cage - Hell's Winter
    Evidence - The Layover EP
    RJD2 - The Third Hand
    RJD2 - Dead Ringer
    Hi-Tek - Hi-Teknology 2
The Roots - How I Got Over
    Josh Martinez - Midriff Music
    Opio - Triangulation Station
The Grouch - Show You The World
    Living Legends - Classic
    CMA (Grouch + Luckyiam.PSC) - CMA 2
    Reks - Grey Hairs
Phonte - Charity Starts At Home
Blue Sky Black Death - Late Night Cinema
    Elzhi - The Preface
Oddisee - People Hear What They See
    Apollo Brown - The Reset
    The Alchemist - Chemical Warfare
Termanology - Time Machine Hood Politics VI
Jake One - White Van Music
Masta Ace - A Long Hot Summer
    K-Os - Yes
    Blakroc - Blakroc
    Mos Def - The Ecstatic
    Cyne - Time Being
Statik Selektah - 100 Proof The Hangover
    DJ Krush - Zen
Royce Da 59 - The Album
    Little Brother - Left Back
    Curren$y - Covert Coup
The Away Team - Scars and Stripes

Ok, that's enough I could do this all day... didn't wanna list obvious stuff like Chronic 2001 or stuff from the golden era of hip hop.

Edit: I listed entire albums worth listening due to production. Listing just a producer name is too easy.

Dilla's too obvious. Everyone talks about him EVERY TIME. We get it, you have a t-shirt.

I don't though. I just saw the Dilla argument, and thought as a producer I would kind of set it straight that what he does takes more skill than say...Willy's example Timbaland.

Definitely on the rise. I got all of his albums.

NO ID too. He killed Nas' Daughters and the Life Is Good album. He's been around for a minute though.

His production on Saigon's Greatest Story Never told was off the charts. Same with vintage stuff from 01-05. That was when he was at the top of his game.

Yeah, someone can make things hard to produce and that all great and dandy, but it sounding good is all that matters. I don't care about the method only the result. But obviously Dilla's style is nothing like Timbaland. Why compare them? It's useless.

What Just Blaze did to Rick James' "Super Freak" was incredible.
