My personal submission : Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor. Damn near every song on there is piff to me.

    Pressure is like :chefoooh:

and even the outro beat is like :jaydamn:

premo is basic as fuck... we are talkin about dudes that are light years beyond him... premo just makes that same dumbass type beat that sounds like its from 1988... and adds a couple scratches :funny:

thats a different discussion... we are talkin dudes that can really work the boards

My personal favorite is Cannibal Ox - The Cold Vein (prod by El-P), but as far as mainstream appeal, no doubt 2001 is pretty unbeatable

Dilla deserves mention in any production thread. As does Black Milk

And while we're at it, can we all stop pretending that Swizz isn't average?

We're talking about production here, not air play. To each their own. You obviously like west coast artists. I agree with Dre and Quick.

As for Premo, you say he was basic but check out the samples he dug up for Nas is Like and Represent

    Nas Is Like

Nas is Like sample Robert Way - What Child Is This - YouTube

    Represent

Lee Erwin - Thief of Baghdad - YouTube

    Now that is sampling.

As opposed to Dr Dre for Nothing But A G Thang...Dude basically ripped off Leon Haywood and just put some drums behind it.

Leon Haywood - I Want to Do Something Freaky To You - YouTube

    Where is the creativity???

Also Pete Rock and 9th Wonder should get some mention in this thread for their production.

Pete Rock and Kanye killed that beat they did together on Watch The Throne.

WORD?! I thought Food & Liquor shat on The Cool. I actually hated The Cool outside of a couple joints.

The production is better yes. Tupac and KC and Jo Jo made the beat. Production is average.
