The best advice given to me online was to stay ""OFFLINE"....

AND THE BEST ADVICE I CAN GIVE ANYONE....

(For the ones who dont appraoch this as a living)

"IS FUK WHAT THE NEXT MAN SAY DO YOU, NOT EVERYONE WILL MAKE IT IN THE GAME BUT IF YOU LOVE DOING WAT YOU DO THATS ALL THAT COUNTS"

(for those who do approach this seriouslly or live off this like me)

"Connects, Connects, Connects and get yourself outthere. I lost 3-4 years of my life jus selling drugs living in my own bubble, as if the majors and everyone would find me. I ddnt consider taking piano lessons didnt consider elevating myself they way i should as a producer. it wasnt till a local rapper put me on with Domingo Ramos former EMI/ATLANTIC A&R that I realised how cold this game was and how on top of your grind you gotta be.. I noticed the ones who making it big are the those whose management or themselves are always in the rite places.. I saw how you definitely gotta be about your bizz get an entertainment lawyer and fight for wats yours(baby dont speak baby dont eat). Remember to always be professional that people take you as serious as you take yourself."

My advice is fukkk all this nonsense about "your shit is wack" and get to getting this money. Fuck a placement. Mufuckas chasin placements like they are some golden ticket. I know •••••• with placements working at Target. 2 8k checks aint finna do shit.

The smart cats are ones who leverage there production talents into automated businesses and create residual income for themselves.

If you ask me all of you are living in a bubble chasing this placement dream. While you were chasing these overrated placements you could have been making a few hundred thousand PER YEAR off of your beats.

I think the detailed feedback people have gave me over the years helped me to improve. Back in 02-03 era, I remember Chase told me that my bassline was out of key with the sample. So once I learned about scales and chords, I knew what he was talking bout.

Urban told me to add a compressor over the bassline melody so my bass don't over whelm the entire track. And I can go on and on about all the things I've learned or the people who helped me. By posting music on this site, it helped me improve alot faster then I would have on my own, making beats locally. I'm still improving all the time.

The fact that I got better equipment helped me improve, and the competiveness that this site had made me more driven to get better. All the shit talking inspired me to get better, and I used that as fuel to get better. I only been making beats for 4-5 years at the most, and only 3 years seriously, to the point I'm obsessed trying to be the best that I possibly can.

I feel that alot of people on here have talent to make it big, there some that have some weak beats. I think it depends on what you trying to accomplish in life.

If you in this music shit just for the money, then expect to spend many years being broke before you actually make a living off of it. Like premize and F major is saying, you got to have side money coming in.

Shit take the beatmaking money and invest it in a car wash business or some shit, don't go out and buy a chain or a watch, I feel what these cats are saying.

I wouldn't go as far to say fuck a placement, because everybody want to be known for their work but don't think thats the only way to make money.

The thing is.. none of us here are in the position to tell another man if his shit is hot or if he has no chance to make it in the industry... that is not real right there... u might THINK that real cause u sayin what u feel like is the truth but how would you REALLY know?

shoot, kanye's shit had been wack to me.. mixed horribly.. but look at his shit... look at soulja boys... if that dude posted that track here before it blew up you would be like... "that wack as hell, son!" go cop yourself reason and toss that fruity shit... sounds like a tupperware joint.. but look at it now?....

and how can you judge just a beat alone like its not going to work and say its wack when its not a complete song and not mixed/mastered???.

yeah some of you are talented as fuk... but you are not the only one who is talented, theres thousands of more BETTTER producers out there for you to worry bout... bringing down another producer that u think you are better than just shows how bad your ego have become... u feel me?... none of us here is the best... being humble gets u good karma and will keep you grounded with your eye on the prize.... ego wont take you nowhere...

My point is producing is not for everyone. No matter how fun you think it is some people will always be terrible. No amount of tips or equipment can save some people. You just happen to exemplify my position. I'm sorry to introduce you to reality. I know how you feel though. I always wanted to play football. I got a bad knee tho. Its cool...you like me will find something else to succeed at....music isn't it for you like football isn't for me.

I'd love to hear these songs they say are good. I'll gladly take everything I've said back( About you in particular) if its anything more than terrible.

    The truth still stands though...

This music thing isn't for everyone..

Some cats are so whack that YOU REALLY KNOW they won't make it. It's that obvious.

It's like looking a some cat hoop at the park who thinks he will be the next Lebron James but he can't make a 10 foot jumper and struggles dribbling the ball with his strong hand. Sometimes you need to give those 'hoop dreams' up.

That goes for producing and rap.
