What's Good Yall? How many of you are up on Q-Clone/Nebula/Altiverb/Voxengo/IR/Etc?

Well if you not...get on it

Wave Q-Clone allows you to capture the curve/sweeps of your hardware and apply it to however many instances you want.

So you can map one REAL SSL EQ over 10-100 tracks, without having to send each track through the actual hardware.

What's even cooler, you can share those responses with other Q clone users who don;t have an SSL!

So i'm hoping some of you are up on this and would like to share some of your responses.... Especially Avalon/Focusrite/ETC users.

As far as the REVERB...Waves comes with a Convultion Reverb...so does audition...nebula and others...

And so far i heard Bricasti M7 and Eventide H3000 are the best verb impulse libraries for those. And I have both + more...including the ill leixcons. They sound lush homies. If you want em, hit me up.

There's also responses for like "vinyl" and "MPC"..but i have no idea how or where to load these files. If you have any info...please hook it up

    Whats good

he explains it way better than i can

but that and the IR reverb both come with waves mercury.

this sounds more like a marketing tool.

All i see is him controlling the EQ with the SSL.

Someone without an SSL channel strip can apply those exact same EQ settings.

Same with the reverb, as far as I can see they just created pre-sets based on certain spaces, wich indeed is usefull, but the EQ I dont see any use for it.

The EQ "snapshot" is capturing the Curve of the SSL, and allowing you to apply it to more than one track at a time. So you dont have to dial up the SSL for every track, and waste the time. And it allows people without SSL, to use the same Filter/EQ curve on there tracks.

I see alot of good use in that. I'd love to have the EQ ability of all throwback vintage modeled hardware.

They are also doing this with presence of a machine. Like the SSL flat..or the MPC flat. Emulating the harmonics and what have you....similar to Colortone products are doing.

The settings yeah you can apply to any EQ really..but the curve and harmonics are unique, and q clone captures both for anyone to use.

    Recabinet Complete 2.0
Recabinet Complete 2.0 is our flagship product, and includes the entire Recabinet Modern and Recabinet Vintage libraries, for a total of nearly 2000 impulse responses of cabinets and microphones spanning the 1950s to the present day. The entire 2.0 library was sampled at Fox Force Five Recorders in Los Angeles using a pristine analog signal path into world class A-D converters (API 3124 mic preamps into Apogee Rosetta converters.)

    RealIR Reverb Engine

Version 2.0 of REFLECT comes with a new RealIR Engine using direct convolution of the critical early reflections without compromising the flexibility of the algorithmic reverb tail generation.

The resulting density and smoothness rivals those of the most expensive hardware reverbs.

    Back to the future

REFLECT is an algorithmic reverberation plugin which combines the flexibility of vintage algorithmic reverbs with the sonic quality of convolution based reverbs.

The creation of high quality reverb needs a realistic simulation of the important early reflections together with a smooth and colorless reverberation tail.

The early reflections are the most important clue for the human ear to get a feeling about the dimension and character of a room. Most algorithmic reverbs offer a number of different algorithms to simulate different natural rooms like chamber, halls or artificial ones like plates. REFLECT uses impulse responses from real acoustic spaces and classical reverb algorithms to emulate their acoustical properties.

The resulting reverberation sets new standards in clarity and sense of space !

    Surround

The new version 1.3 is a true surround reverb modelling multichannel early reflections and decorrelated reverb tails for a realistic spatial emulation.

REFLECT is now compatible to the new VST3 standard - the next major revision of Steinberg’s Virtual Studio Technology. The VST3 version allows for arbitrary input/output channel configurations up to 10.2 Surround.

    Features

    - True Surround reverb
    VST3: all configurations up to 12 channels including 5.1 / 7.1
    AudioUnit: mono/stereo/5.1 => mono/stereo/5.1
    RTAS: mono/stereo/5.1/7.1 => mono/stereo/5.1/7.1

    - Import of surround impulse responses.
    - Surround reverb programs.

    Features

    Algorithmic Reverb

    - Import of early reflections from impulse response files.
    - RealIR Engine uses convolution for early reflections
    - Surround reverb
    - 150+ Factory reverb programs
    - 4 band equalizer
    - Smooth reverb tail generation
    - Easy user interface “one page only”.

seems too good to be true..

so when someone sends some one a setting, it carries all hte DSP effects, coding, etc of the SSL filter/eq/whatever??

or are they just sending a preset??

    This is hard to explain...

When they send you an "SSL EQ Boost 3k"...when you load it in your Q clone and put it on a snare, your snare should sound like it was boosted in 3k by an SSL EQ

    you know what im saying?

IT doesn't carry the nuance of an SSL..i would assume, since theres no gainstage mapping

but it captures the "curve" you know..like how the SSL changes over the spectrum

or an avalon....or a dbx...anything with an unique algorithm in its processing.

Id suggest like Nebula or Colortone for further "feel" tho...

    @ B real...yeah if i didnt have Reverence..reflect is aweomse...real nice on the cpu...

And can u pm me or link me to the cabinet impulses..does it say what to use those with? or would mic and cabinets impulses work with a reverb convolution like Reflect??? thats confusing me

Im working on an SSL desk this saturday. why dont you send me a drumloop and we'll EQ it both with the settings, curious to see how close it will come to the actual thing.

    lets go even further.

    the same drumloop

    EQ using waves ssl
    EQ using the Q clone
    EQ using the desk

    then compare em together.
    what do you think?

Yes...i cant do the q clone one cuz i dont have the SSL mappings yet. If you have Waves Mercury at that desk, ud have to make a template..send to me..and i apply it to the loop here and see if it lines up with the other 2...

but as far as the other 2 yeah im down...

studio doesnt have waves, just the pro tools plugins, oxford and ozone.

we'll compare the desk to the plug in then.

just create a mono drumloop, kick snare hihat, and apply the EQ.
write down your settings, HPF, LPF, frequency, Q, boost/cut etc... and ill aply the same settings to it on the desk.

send the loop plus settings to request@tonipproductions.com
