right now I have an Imac, Rode Nt1A, Tascam mk122 interface, soundforge 10, and Sony Acid pro 7.

I'm just wondering what audio software you would recommend over the one I'm using. for those that know.

    holla.

If you want to try something free you can try Audacity, its open source so it has a lot of cool functions but its a lot different then a lot of DAW's

No, it use to require proprietary hardware, but if you get 9 you can use any interface you just have to get an ilok which is like 50bucks

check out propellerhead reason for beats and millions of sounds/instruments/kits (MIDI). Quality is 100%. For recording audio, like vocals, get a better mic and learn how to use VST plugins. Compression, EQ, Reverb, etc... A good mic preamp (digital or live) is crucial

make sure you are using soundforge to reduce peaks/ maximize volume after your final mixdown. This should bump it up to radio volume and get rid of the quiet home studio sound. This is the missing step that most home recordings REALLY need

If you want better sound buy better cables first and I see your on a MAC buy Logic Pro 9. I use both Logic Pr 9 and ProTools so I understand both programs.
