...would you, or would that be too much to even consider?

Women will usually add their husband's surname, but haven't noticed men doing that (at all), up until recently when hearing of friend's after wedding request to her hubby.

I think there's a difference from doing a combination (ie a hyphen) for both parties, and just the male taking the female's name while the female doesn't take the male's name.

In that case I might as well look at getting a minivan and going out on girl's night.

Might as well just get a strapon and Jason Anthony's mom's lube, because it's going to be a rough marriage.

When my son was born, he got both surnames, so when hubby and I finally got married, he took on my name legally as well so that we'd all be the same.

No. i like my last name. if we had 2 sons and she was an only child or only had sisters and the family wanted to keep the name though, i'd say one of the sons' last name can be hers.

    i think that's fair.

    no.

im not even a fan of the hyphenated name, being someone who has one. my mom put her last name in my name "out of respect" for my grandfather, but he even said it was stupid. lol.

it gets annoying as fuck though, cuz you forget which name you used for what. like, when i went to get my license, apparently on my social security she only put my dad's name, so when that didnt match with something else they sent me home and i wasted an hour at the DMV.

It's a cultural thing. I haven't really seen it the otherway around either.

I had a martial arts teacher once who, when he got married, him and his wife both changed their names to something totally different.

I wanted to do that when I got married but... doesn't matter, marriage didn't work out.

Never...seems selfish and controlling to me. Tells me you wanna get married but not give up anything, which will most likely repeat itself over and over again throughout the marriage. It basically says you love me, but not enough to take my name becuz you feel yours is more important.
