If you were a 'true' hip hop fan, you'd only listen to one specific, narrowed down sub genre of rap within the larger, vast genre of rap music.

seriously if you are a true fan you like what you like, and if you are an educated fan you know why you like and dislike, and if you are still drinking breast milk, and learning your thumb is not a sucker, then you have been outcasted by those around you who beat your ipinion up and take it out by saying real but never reaching it

you right yo, rap became pop like neptunes or a bit earlier……rap is still rap, pop is just popular, it has been the beatles, elton john etc….but the pop rap kats are doing some stuff that is not typical to previous rap, but it is still part of the genre……same way smooth jazz and miles and thelonious are the same genre
