Rondo is dope... and he's definitely a top 5 point guard.

He's a great distributor but he can't score at will like the best in the game. I doubt Rondo would even be a relevant name in the NBA without Pierce and KG.

are u blind, or just ignorant?

he just got the second most votes to the nba all defensive team right behind dwight howard. second time i have to tell u this.

he also led the league in assists and steals, both by a wiiiide margin.

thats not a guy u put on ur team? yeah ok sit the fuck down

He doesn't have to score at will, though... his main goal is to be a distributor.

But when he puts his mind to it, he can score and penetrate... did you see that move he did on Varajow...sp and that other cat in game 2?

None of the PGs in the game are perfect, if you ask me... so Rondo definitely deserves to be up there in the top 5.

Nash gets owned repeatedly on the defensive end.

I think Rondo is their most valuable player right now... like if he goes down, they wouldn't have a chance.

In the beginning, I think his main problem was that he would leave his team on the court and not set them up right... now he's gotten better and is feeding them ball and directing them.

I never said I wouldn't want him on my team. If I had the choice to build a team around any PG he wouldn't be top 5 imo. When he gets a jumper he'll be top 5. I'd take Rondo over Joe Johnson any day.

You can't go strictly by right now though to determine who's the best in the grand scheme of things though. I agree right now this very second, meaning the the playoffs, it's Deron v. Rondo and it's close as shit.

But taking everything into consideration (regular season, last few seasons, skills, strengths, weaknesses, etc.) he's still behind Paul and Williams when all of em are healthy. As far as the right now thing is concerned this thread was started in 08, at that time he wasn't top 3 in my opinion. Now he's got two straight years of going off in the playoffs (and the year before was good too) and strong regular seasons too so he's moved up.

I hate Rondo for the shit he got away with in last yrs series with the Bulls, but jesus the guy is a motherfuckin animal. Easily top 3.

Rose is not a very good PG... I cannot believe I'm seeing his name above Rondo in here.
