No racist but those are the worst people to work for. No sense of humor, only care about money. Could give a fuck about their employees.

Man, at wild wings the servers made more than the managers with tips factored in.

I got friends who will bitch about making 80 in a night in tips.

*generally have to report tips for taxes
**servers make substantially less than minimum wage
***manager is a somewhat secure job; server is not
****servers have to pay for insurance OOP
*****$80-100 in tips for a 6-8hr work day, plus "wages" is like $120. $120x4 = $480 a week (if they get consistent tips and 4 days work)
    ******$480 a week x 52 = not even $25k a year.

they have every right to complain about 80-100$ in tips.

You don't have to report tips. I never have at least.

    Servers make minimum wage.

Never heard of a server paying insurance.

80-100 is what they complain about, meaning they're typically in the 150-200 range.

Most servers at restaurants I've worked at have gotten 5 days a week. 8/hr for 6 hours = 48 + 150 is 198. 198X5 is just under a grand a week before taxes. Also managers are on salary usually and putting in 50 hrs a week.

They're usually complaining to bussers and expos who are getting 35-45 a night. No sympathy.

Every restaurant I've worked at they've made 8/hr. Which I guess is slightly under min wage but not by much.

Lol think of how crazy cost of living is here. My boy lived in a low income apartment that was 1100 a month. That's low income.

It's definitely 8/hr here and that's in a Buffalo Wild Wings. I believe some were getting around 19/hr at the restaurants at the hotel I started interning at, but I'm not 100% on that. It was a union property though and I think these were the people who'd been there forever.

Servers and waitresses get minimum wage plus tips here too, which they don't have to claim.

Well I went to mad places so many of them said they weren't hiring, that things were too slow. I filled out an application at Little Ceasars. At CVS the manager said to fill out the apartment on the internet, which I did and it took forver, and then to bring in my resume the next day. Ima also fill out the application for Best Buy and bring in my resume there and go to all the stores near by Best Buy, it's not in Far Rockaway but a surrounding town that I can take the bus to. The 1 place I wanted to work at the most, VIM, wasn't hiring.

    This is incorrect.

Here in SF California servers get minimum wage which is 10.24 plus tips.

    Ca labor law>

They must report tips that are given by debit/credit but can pocket all cash.
