I can't and thats because I can't mix.... when we are hear with no label or studio professionalizing our shit...our music can't be GREAT

i am listening to these old school RM.com joints..
the mixing on em is PHENOMENAL

How'd ya'll learn to do it so crisply???

I mean, no matter how much lyrical talent anyone has...Flow talent and delivery talent...no matter any of that

you can't make good music without knowing how to mix nicely...

    THROW SOME TIPS

    I'd love to get better

Nimrod/Wird Of Pley songs sound like they were made in a goddamn record label's studio

I mean, if ya'll got signed- the label wouldnt give you studio time...they'd be like...Just do it at home and mail it over.

    Monitors + E.Q. = Great Mixing.

read up on mixing and get some monitors...no one can tell you how to mix, it's different for every person and track.

ummm..they wud most definately NOT say that..and i havent ever heard a song online that was mixed right...

:edit: best bet w/ mixing..find yourself an engineer..like a kid goin to school for it or somthing..i never recommend mixing ur own music cuz u wont notcied things that are blatantly obvioust to others and 3rd parties..its a kind of like a bias opinion u have towards yourself but not in a negative way..just that a 3rd party can tell u things and see thing about ur music that u just cant see/hear..also mixing will drive the avg. joe crazy..requires alot of patience...

they are speakers basicly but they are for mixing...its the only way you can get an accurate mix

dont buy cheap monitors though or else they will be a waste...

Monitors are like computer speakers, except more powerful and are geared towards detailed playback. You need to be able to hear almost every flaw in your vocals in order to get a great mix on it. Some people don't need monitors because they can produce good quality music with their comp speakers. But yeh, monitors offer more detail, and clarity in terms of playback. A secret is that studio headphones produce dope clarity and detail during playback as well. I use my ATH mj40hs to mix my vocals.

monitors are self amplified un-eq'ed speakers....which means the sound is comming str8 from the source..and is not pre-eq'ed by a cd player or stereo like regular speakers and the sound isnt being amplified by a stereo or amp..it has its own power...and they cost a grip..if ur just learnin how to mix.i wudnt invest in monitors just yet...

    http://www.zzounds.com/item--SENHD25

u need to have a soundcard that'll take 1/4" jacks

not the small 1/8" small ones that your normal speakers fit in
