How do I get one of my short stories, or poems published?
Go to Borders or Barnes and Noble and buy the latest copy "Poet's Market" and "Writer's Market" Look through it for small presses that encourage beginning writers. The Storyteller for instance... they have a website too, it's www . freewebz . com/fossilcreek
If you don't wanna shell out $25 a piece, you can just take a notebook into the bookstore, and write down the addresses. The best idea is to order sample copies of the magazines you plan on sending to first, so you know just what type of material they look for.
But even before you get there, get someone to give serious critiques on your shit... on this board you won't find that very much...
i think ima try that to
just to see if i can get a response
i dont know though
cuz my shit isnt very well structured
BTW: Suggest any strategys or sites of getting SERIOUS feedback.. Like a site dedicated to just writing and shit..
there's a poetry one called contemporarypoetry/haven or something like that... but they're VERY harsh, very very very sticklers for craft above all else... stories I'm not sure...
