    Just get these dude
Amazon.com: Tater Mitts quick Peeling potato gloves: Kitchen & Dining

Also, there's a thing in one of the drawers that has a blade that looks like this:

    Place convex side against potato
    Apply pressure
Slide against potato away from you
    Repeat

Pfft Say that when you've got a cook out going and you need to peel thirty or forty of those bad boys for mashed potatoes.

IDK why they're doing it with those potatoes in particular though. Those red ones are for stews and pot roasts. You generally don't need a lot of those at once unless you're making a HUGE pot.

Plus I thought red ones are typically cooked with the skins on.

Yeah. It depends. The reason you use the red ones in stews and roasts and stuff is that they're "waxy" and hold up better being in hot water over long periods of time. They aren't as starchy but they're loaded with sugar and shit so they're perfect for throwing in the crock pot and forgetting about them.

Here's the thing though, those red potatoes in that gif may just be new potatoes. Very well could just be young Russets and the person is going to mash them. I didn't think about it until I watched that episode of Good Eats again last night. So, yeah, both.

That's way more thought into food than I ever anticipated on using. I simply purchase, open, put into something, cook, eat. (If that)

Cooking is chemistry that you eat. Being someone who's got a slightly more than passing interest in science I get into that sort of thing. Especially since I started watching Good Eats. Grilling and bbq are my shit though. Thand and chicken and dumplings.

I love those kind of shows too, I just don't think about it when I'm making stuff. I love good food porn now and then, but I'm more into Man vs. Food, Bizarre Foods and shows of that nature.
