drop some names....
and how many of YALL do...?
each and everyone of them use drum loops
ive heard that cats like timbo use the lil loops off sound cds an shit
if ur talking about loops from sampled cds..
Acid Disco Loops 2000
just blaze does
alot more does
what the fuck does it matter... but 9/10 you can tell which beats are drum loops and which aren't...
its like when you figure out santa clause doesnt exist...
i know for a fact timbo do but i need proof that the rest of them do
i remember seeing a video wit him and some chick and he shoin off his cd folder and its filled wit sample cds, he told chick she need to get her sample game up hahaha
then i seen the one where he had a loop saved on his keyboard and busta was fucking wit it and hit it, then dude made a monster beat wit it
but i dont know bout anybody else
i dont see why u would use sample drum loops, why not just re make then its alot better sometimes
but as far as the sounds go, i'm in the looks for some right now, i hate using them cause i feel like i;m cheating but its makes it like 10x better
when u say loops........
do u mean pre sets off a keybaord loops.. or sample cd..
or Records.. vinyl.. if records.. 90 percent of hiphop is based on that.
if its off vinyl, then its sampled, if its off a cd its a loop, cause its a loop while its on the cd, so when u use it, its still a loop, its a sample loop hahaha
u can LOOP anything, u can sample 4 bars of the beatles and if u dont rearrange it (chop it up) and just set a tempo and use all 4 bars that is a LOOP
every producer has done that atleast 1
drum breaks, have been used forever, most of your favorite classic beats are little more then a drum break looped and another loop over it
your real question is what producer BUY LOOP CDS
and probably a lot of them do
but kanye mostly samples, actualy as far as i know kanye only samples and he also incoperated live musicians in his last cd
i dont think he uses loop cds
^ Im jus curious
Loops as in:
Drum loops, Piano Loops, Melody Loops, Synth Loops, that type of shit.. yea, sample cd type shit
Not record/sample loops.
When i first started makig beats i did that..
thats a REAL lazy way out. using a drum break.. and using shit already looped from a cd....
i think it feels better when u make ur own drums /bass cause in the outcome if its all hot u feel better about ur self.
All right now usually I dont enter discussions, because I feel for the most part there is nothing to discuss im trying to grind and get money period...but I'll shed some thought on a couple of things.....This thread right here is the epitome of what seperates producers making music from niggas making beats. The mindstate has to be understood here...a beatmaker mindset is based upon the beat and what is put into it...The producer doesnt care what paths they take there main focus is on the finished product "the song". Lets take Jermaine Dupri for example....if your sample cd game is tight..."IF"...then you will notice him and Bryan Micheal Cox build beats around sample cd loops frequently. They dont chop the loop, it aint reversed, it is simply creatively played around. Now a beatmaker hears a loop and he feels he has to chop it just because it is "cheating"....now he has this chopped loop that aint 1/4th of the vibe that the original loop was...he is going to add a coupla drums and a coupla sounds and it is going to be a wrap....now a producer is going to be able to hear the music theory that is going on in the loop....so he is easily going to be able to make piano arrangements (Bryan Micheal Cox - exceptional piano player) guitar arrangments, synthlines, live bass (Tim & Bob), and groovy drums to accompany the loop...as a matter of fact the loop now becomes an afterthought to the song arrangment....it is there....but because so much is going on to "supplement" it...the untrained ear simply forgets about it......and gets caught up in the orchestration.....THE MAGIC OF A PRODUCER...not to mention the artist adding the bread and butter....THE VOCALS...wow what a concept.
if you were a big name producer, like timbo....why wouldn't you hire the person making the drum loops to make some originals for you?
cause for a fraction of the price you can get a royalty free sample cd
besides timbo can play the drums why would he hire some1 to do it for him?
and if he could just play it his self, then why dont he, why does he sample the loop
but i feel its hip hop yo,
