haha yea its a bitch cuttin and tapin...

i swear i've seen people edit on that thing faster than on pro tools

i love the machine though.. especially when you just run some tracks thru it, gives it a real nice warm feel to it... the tape compression it puts on it is ridicolous

they must have been REALLY slow pro tools operators...cause the average tape edit takes like 30-40 seconds, what with measuring out everything and whatnot

i know for a fact i can do pro tools edits in under 10 seconds

anyways, tape is nice to track to, but after that I always dump shit into one of many digital mediums...just makes editing and mixing a hell of a lot faster/easier

as far as digital recording mediums go, RADAR is one of the best sounding in my opinion

The permanent setup, the only thing I plan on adding is some analog synths and some outboard processing power.

    great setup fm

you went for the 4k over the 2k then, didn't you just get the 2k? don't you find the powerbook a bit underpowered?

anyway good shit. what guitar is that, looks like it says ibanez on the headstock

For what Im trying to accomplish, I choose the 4000 over the 2k cause I got so used to the work flow on reason interms of editing, sampling and so forth, and the 4k allows me to browse for samples create kits and sounds per song faster than the 2k allowed me to. I basically use the Powerbook as a Soundmodule to the MPC, and I use it for tracking, so its powerful enough for that, I dont use it for heavy effects processing, for that I can see myself using a few more outboard, and the rest I can take to a HD system. The Guitar is an Ibanez Artcore
