I haven't checked my main site but from what I know Dana hasn't talked to Nick,
but said he owed it to George, since St.Pierre asked for it, and doesn't ask for much
(other than poutine @ every post-fight press conference, wd40 & Montreal Nothern Lights ;) )

really though, I'll check later and ejac on this thread.

at what point do we call ducking?

he doesn't want silva, i can understand that though silva is bigger
but he doesn't want hendricks who just won the #1 contender fight..

i wanted to see him vs diaz, and still do, but hendricks won me over with his power and wrestling possibly on par with gsp.. it'd be his toughest 170 challenge since the fight he just had with carlos

I think it's a bit early to call ducking. Realistically, he wants Diaz so he can say he beat SF's Champ (though I'm sure Diaz being a less risky fight plays into it as well).

Now if he beats Diaz and takes another fight other than Hendricks (assuming Hendricks hasn't lost in the meantime) then possibility of ducking can be looked at. Honestly though, GSP isn't the type to duck like that. I don't think he has any issue fighting anyone in his division. Silva's a whole different can of worms for multiple reasons.

yeah but if you go by that.. diaz lost to condit, so technically gsp just united the belts

By lineage, yeah. But you'll find plenty of people that will say Condit didn't* win that fight. They're wrong, but you know. Opinions and all that.

Gsp is ducking straight up. I'm a big gsp fan but there's no doubt he is lining up a meanless fight to avoid Silva. Gsp has never ducked anyone before, but say Anderson Silva and he looked scared.

Sidenote Anderson is also ducking Jones.

Both of those superfights seem like bad fights to take for the smaller guys (GSP in the Silva fight and Silva in the Jones fight). Silva probably has a better chance against Jones than GSP does against Silva but Jones is essentially a HW in height and reach who is fighting at LHW.

Exciting to think about but not really good for the fighters themselves.

The weight isn't the difference, the skill is.
