i know its difficult to use in most gyms...but chalk is really a necessity...if your gym lets you then buy some...they sell it online pretty cheap...just search gym chalk on amazon.com...

anyway...if you have hexagonal dumbbells at your gym...you can do this for timed holds

you can do that, you can also do it with barbells, you can do pull ups with tennis balls in your hands, holding them on top of the bar, you can rope climb

i do a SHIT load of grip strength.

i do loads and loads of exercises with my gi. for example i'll hang my gi over the pull up bar and make grips on the gi and do pull ups, same thing with curls, i'll put it through the grips on the resistance cables and do tons of exercises with that. its really really good for grip. you can use a sweat shirt or something, it works amazing.

Train with a rope...shit works wonders dude. At the end of my shrugs I'll usually load up the bar to a weight I can't really do anything with except hold for a few seconds and I'll do that like 4-5 times and see how long I can actually hold it...that actually blew my grip strength way up.

    do you wear gloves?

I used to wear a set of gloves that were about a size too big and they would rip my joints apart on my fingers. the top of the gloves would dig into the second joint on my fingers when doing pullups or shrugs and i would always have to give up before i was ready.

and if u dont wear gloves than you can try to see if theyll help
