That first right Diaz throws literally looks like a slap.
I think it was meant to slap gsp's lead hand down, but i might be wrong
It was I've seen him do it before
Diaz was dummied.
Census is calling for a finish though.
Hopefully G.S.P. can get one soon.
St. Pierre has to be the LAMEST fcking fighter in any combat sport. The guys fights are just dry hump fests. Diaz hurt St. Pierre in the 3rd round.
its expected to get hurt in a fight, specially an arranged match in a ring
im pretty sure Nick was worse off by the end.
Totally dominated and barely took any damage. Doesnt matter. Diaz is not a great fighter but he is at least a warrior. I grew up watching motherfuckers like Ali, Duran, Roy Jones, Mayweather, Marquez, Morales, Leonard, Tyson, Holyfield, Hopkins, Tito Trinidad, De La Hoya, Whitaker
And when I see this guy who's main objective is to lay on you and barely do shit all night until the fights over is just a fuckin lame ass style. PERIOD.
I think the criticism of GSP is pretty unfair.
He doesn't NOT work when he's on the ground, he's constantly throwing strikes and working position.
Not every champion is gonna be like Anderson Silva.
G S P gets hate when I see legit articles saying he's a great athlete,
but asking if he is a great fighter...
The dude is fighting in the best fighting organization available to MMA,
...Is that question even necessary when regarding an 8-time champion.
People are judging these fights like school yard brawls...
I swear half of the casual fans don't even like kicks unless their spinning or Head kick KO.
I can't tell you how many times I've had to answer the question, "Why do people bother with leg kicks?" to the casual fan.
Face, meet palm.
This being said, Hendricks is going to be one tough S.O.B. though.
I am not a casual fan. I've been watching since I was 9 years old, year 2000....I watched the old UFC fights with Gracie, Shamrock, Dan Severn, Mark Coleman (another horrible lay and pray, gnp artist). My favorite fighters are Nick Diaz, Nate Diaz, Frankie Edgar, Rampage, Wanderlei, and Bones Jones. I've been an amateur boxer since I was 16 and amateur have competed in amateur MMA fights since 19. I would pretty much go to say combat sports are my life and the only sports I do.
I just find GSP's style lame and not good to watch. I prefer stand up aspect of fighting always did. It obviously wins him on points vs several guys hey if it works for you dont change it right? He's a great WRESTLER.
i love how anybody who doesnt like gsp's style is told that they have no knowledge of mma or combat sports in general. (not that you guys are) i havent enjoyed any of his fights since koscheck.
its not that he is laying on his opponent, its that he is purposely puts his opponents in positions he can control them in, does little damage in the ground and pound and by the end of round its too late to fight back so he gets the round.
Think of it as a football team scoring early and then running the ball the rest of the game for 3 yard gains, just enough to run the clock out and win.
Jake Shields nullified the damage cuz he's a great wrestler.
GSP does damage on the ground.
Damn, GSP with the subtle feint and Diaz pays for it with a stiff jab. Homie looks mad frustrated afterwards too.
well hes trying to win
so i don't care what he does. He stays active.
yes little damage. he was in control for most of the fight and came out looking worse. he hasn't hurt anybody in a few years
i already gave him props for the koscheck fight.
gsp is the greatest winner of all time.
