To be able to use Reason effectively you will need a fast computer, a pro level sound card and an USB midi keyboard. There is no getting around it. With the addition of sound FX modules and extras features, Reason can tax CPU pretty hard.

For transitioning, find things Reason thats similar to what you use and go from there. Get comfortable with one device instead of tackling the whole program at once. The manual and helpfiles make for excellent resources.

Learn about the main sequencer first. It ties everything together. Then take on the Redrum, then Dr.REX, then Subtraktor, then the NN-19...once you got those down well, then go after the souped up version of those modules like the NN-XT....

    Good Luck

Ray Digga is my man!!! first off

Follow his lead on this I use reason but not as much as everyone.. I build a studio but it runs off of a server in my home again anyone who wants to dot it...it comes at a price... Lets say I record in my prodution studio then got to mix down in my vocal lab that when we have problems again I do alot of tweaking and that causes the problems.. So my advice if you are not reallllllllly IT illertiate then back off really you make think you know something but again even I ask a question once a year and I buy my software...FU to those that dont because it is there to buy not keep.......I will join the teams just to banned boneheads...

Ive been considering trying Reason. Ive been using Fruity Loops for awhile now. Is there a learning curve with Reason? Would it be easy for me to transition to Reason?
