Yea I remember that B2K shit, I think they settled out of court, he couldn't tell us how much he got though.

I never understood how Deeper Era's shit sounded so damn clean, even back then his beats were pro quality. Then I saw his setup and he had like a cheap ass keyboard and some tiny monitors lol, I was like wtf

I came around 2002...so I remember a few of those names like Styalz, Noviss, Sol of course. I was one of the first to get on Soundclick back when it first came n got big, but that was near the end of MP3's reign.

I never saved any beats, I'd just check out the charts and shit every now and then. Deeper Era stood out the most to me tho cause I saw the money he was making, and that made me start an mp3 page. Never in a million years did I think I'd still be producing today, I started this shit as a joke, to see if I could make a few dollars lol

word @ noVa, man I was loving life back then...young as hell, making a couple grand a month just for uploading music, it was great.

Deeper Era (that's me... I've teamed up with a partner and we now go under the name ANSANE - see ansane. com or 1995abeat. com)

    Bay Root Productions
    Syntax the Beatmaker
    Rockwise
    Rock It Productions
    Mr. Royce
    Soleternity
    Nashid

I've gotta hand it to Sho-Down and Rockwise, they came in and knocked me off the mp3.com charts! A lot of us were able to make quite a bit of money during those days. There were some electronic artists like 303infinity and Bassic that were able to make 6 figures! it was crazy!

Yeah, I can't speak on the amount that I received. After legal fees and other expenses, it didn't end up being that much, but I still made more than I would have if I actually sold the track to them though, which was cool.

haha. I had a Roland XP-30 (which I still use quite a bit) and that was pretty much it. The rest was done with "Making Waves", "Soundforge" and "T-Racks" software (which i also still use). You don't need a ton of equipment to make decent sounding tracks!
