damn...looks like i missed out
i had just started out when mp3.com fell
I still have some Kune x10, and Dj Rolo beats on my hardrive.. along with others...
Yea I remember that B2K shit, I think they settled out of court, he couldn't tell us how much he got though.
I never understood how Deeper Era's shit sounded so damn clean, even back then his beats were pro quality. Then I saw his setup and he had like a cheap ass keyboard and some tiny monitors lol, I was like wtf
^ Upload One Of His Beats..
And Once I Get Damn Inet Back Up At My Crib.. I'll Check It Out.
I came around 2002...so I remember a few of those names like Styalz, Noviss, Sol of course. I was one of the first to get on Soundclick back when it first came n got big, but that was near the end of MP3's reign.
man u must miss mp3.com more than all of us you were up there with the techno heads making all the money off play for plays.
i wasnt on mp3.com but i remember i use to get beats off kazaa nad somehow id always get deeper era shit. and it was hot NY type shit.
Rock It put upp all the names i was gunna list and more.. i always used to peep deeper era and noviss the most.. aswell as rockit
He used a Roland xp80. i didn't think they were that cheap at all back then.
I never saved any beats, I'd just check out the charts and shit every now and then. Deeper Era stood out the most to me tho cause I saw the money he was making, and that made me start an mp3 page. Never in a million years did I think I'd still be producing today, I started this shit as a joke, to see if I could make a few dollars lol
word @ noVa, man I was loving life back then...young as hell, making a couple grand a month just for uploading music, it was great.
Here you go chickies.. a deeper era beat.. this is perhaps his most known and dopest beat IMO.. I have 1 or 2 from Rockit, 4 Noviss, 4 Kune x10, 1 Dj Rolo, and a bunch others..

I've gotta hand it to Sho-Down and Rockwise, they came in and knocked me off the mp3.com charts! A lot of us were able to make quite a bit of money during those days. There were some electronic artists like 303infinity and Bassic that were able to make 6 figures! it was crazy!
Yeah, I can't speak on the amount that I received. After legal fees and other expenses, it didn't end up being that much, but I still made more than I would have if I actually sold the track to them though, which was cool.
haha. I had a Roland XP-30 (which I still use quite a bit) and that was pretty much it. The rest was done with "Making Waves", "Soundforge" and "T-Racks" software (which i also still use). You don't need a ton of equipment to make decent sounding tracks!
^^ How is your site doing?
