For all yall who want a mpc1000,2000,2000xl, 3000,

    They are seriously OVER RATED.

    I had almost every Mpc.i had the Mpc4000 ,the mpc2000xl,the mpc60 the mpc1000

And seriously The Ensoniq ASR-X Kills those peices (excluding the 4000)

The Ensoniq ASR-X is fuckin Amazing

Amazing Sampler ,Killer FX,13 pads ,and a decent sequencer that works in song mode like a mpc

im serious for 200-300 dollers u get a asr that kills mpc's .the sequencer is tighter on the mpc but u can freak the asrx sequencer.

The ASR-X is more powerfull then any akai sampler.the effects and resampling ablitys make the ASR-X awsome when tweaking samples.

I just got my ASR-X Yesturday and im making some bangers already with it,

I just gotta learn a few more things but it sounds GREAT!!

so if u want to get u some hardware when u get tired of fruity loops and ish get a ASR-X .

They cost way less then any mpc and can do much more.

For the Price of a Maxed ASR-X With 8 outs will cost u around 500$ u cant get any stock mpc with that price.

And the FX on the ASR-X Kill the FX on the mpc4000 and kills the Sampler it sounds more Warm !!

    if u want a dope Sampler,With Killer FX,Good Sequencer,and Nice Pads get a ASR-X Or X pro .

From a man who had almost every mpc except(3000)

    I recomend a ASR-X Over Any Mpc

Man, I will no longer take any opinion you have seriously again.

First, it was "Oh man, the MV-8000 is the greatest piece of equipment there is." Then, you got an MPC and it was, "The MPC shits on the MV, everyone should go out and get an MPC right this second." Now, the MPC is overrated and the ASR is what we should get.

the pads are booty, mpc1000/2500 holds more memory, the normal asrx isn't expandable, the onboard "synths" are also booty.

still would buy a modern mpc over this.

yo man mv8000 is tight but for that cost it aint worth it,

the mpc's are tight if u need to sequence out board gear hense the 2 midi outs.

But im serious man the asr-x are amazing for the cost,it shits on my mpc1000

I've been saying this for years. I've started off with the ASR-10, moved to the ASR-X, then to the ASR-X Pro maxed out with 66MB of ram plus the Urban EXP card...this is a great box for makin beats...add a midi controller, and your creation are unlimited....

pads are decent ,it is expandable up to 34mb and can get a urban card and 8 outs making 10 outs total, also Scsi for hard drive and ex..

The onboard sounds are not the greatest but who the fuck buys a sampler for onboard sounds?

think what u want nova but i owned many mpc's and serious when i say i will take a asrx over any mpc(well not the 4000)

And talking of pads the asrx pads aint as good as mpc pads but they are alot more responive then my shitty mpc1000 pads.

just before i go to bed ill give u my main probelms with the asr series,

ive wanted an asr 10 for the longest time ever purely for the effects i duno if the asr x /pro are based on the same effects or not but besides that point they aren't portable like my mpc if im playing with a band i cant be taking scsi harddrives and connecting cables n shit.

number two no visual editing, for me visual editing is a must otherwise i would had to spend fucking ages listening to the sample seeing if i hit a 0 point in the wave.

i also dont like the way the pads are set out and the tiny tiny screen.

your an idiot if you believe this clown. he doesnt have any equipment, nor does he make beats. like 2 days ago in JAYD's thread he was sayin how the mpc is the best shit out basically. he is some sad whiteboy who wants to be "cool" online so he pretends he owns all this equipment.

Thats the most stupid thing i ever heard in my life!!!

ur the wack fuck who thought samplers on mpc's was a option,

I would never fuckin lie to seem cool.

The Mpc is the best sequencer hands down.

but the Ensoniq ASR-X is more bang for the buck.

The Mpc has a good phrase sampler but realy weak fx and there filters and env are ass.

basicly what u sample is allways gonna resemble what u sampled because theres no way to tweak the sounds with there weak fx they give u about 5 effects

Reverb,Delay,Hi pass, and a couple more and they are all ASS!!!

u get 40 Effects with the ASR-X they are all killer i from what i read contains the chip from the Ensoniq DP-2 effects processer.

the Sequencer on the ASR-X aint as good as the mpc ,but works the same.build ur sequences and arrange them in song mode.

The Screen aint no big deal its nice and bright, looking clear and its the same as the E-mu Command Station i used to own.

U dont need To see wave forms to chop up samples after a week of choping by ear its a breaze.

The Mpc2000,2000xl,3000,4000 Pads are all WAY better then the ASR-X Pads.

But the Mpc1000 and ASR-X have the same size pads Just placed diffrent.

my asr-x still is in like new condition the pads are still very nice and bouncy .

but i seen asr-x with beat up stuck pads after much abuse.

The Mpc1000 pads aint as responsive as the asr-x

the mpc1000 pads die on u.the more u bang them the more u wear out the sensor under the pads causing them to be way less responsive and maybe dead at one point.

The Replacement pads are design diffrent but will also break after regular use,

    ------------------------------------
    Mpc 1000 cost 999$
Pads 16 will die on u and loos sensitivity.
    Sequences 128
    Drum Sampler
    Weak FX(Eb 16)
LCD Screens Slanted but Big .
Sequencer is the best out period.
    --------------------------------------------
    Ensoniq ASR-X Cost 100-300$
13 pads feels good and very sesitive
    Sequences 128
    Full Flege Sampler
Also is a Synth u can load instruments and make sampled/composed beats.
Killer FX up to 40 and all tweakable contains a Ensoniq DP2 Chip
Lcd screen is way smaller but looks great and is nice and strait all u need is on the lil screen.
Sequencer is ok i heard storys of the sequencer being horriable but it works like the mpc's build sequences and arrange them in song mode.

it aint as good as the mpc1000 but thats all the mpc has over the ASR-x
    ---------------------------------

    And Nova

    I bought my Mint ASR-X for 100$

    8 outs exp 250$

    Scsi 100$

thesoniq said he will throw in the free Ram Upgrade.

so thats 450$ for a fully maxed asr-x for me.

thats 500 cheaper then what i paid for my mpc1000.which i sold for 850$
but if dont even plan on gettins 8 outs to track my beats out cuz i dont track out.

it would be just 100$ for scsi
    45$ for a formated ZipDrive
    30 for Max Ram.

so around 275$ for a Ensoniq ASR-X with Scsi and Max ram .anyone can find the same on ebay for the same price i even seen 8 outs on a asr-x sell for 300$
