I installed FL Studio on my friends computer. He went out and bought a midi controller today and now I feel bad cuz when we go to record a pattern, it won't record to the piano roll and only records to the standard step editor... I don't know why... I installed FL on my cpu and didn't touch a thing and I got it to record to the piano roll the first time I tried... I've tried looking in the help file for why, but all I can see is this continuous note about "active steps only" being on, but I can't find where to turn it on/off...

Maybe some ppl on here can help me before the FL Help ppl get to my thread on fruityloops.com

maybe if you both got bootlegged copies you should take your copy to his house on a cd and install it over the old one and see if it works

go into your settings...somewhere in the dropdown menu...and click either "record to piano roll" or it would be vice versa " record to sequencer"
